After this week’s cashmere and champagne inspiration, today’s modern industrial wedding design is a return to colorful form for me! Before starting this blog, my design tastes tended to run to the classic and safe – lots of expected color combinations, nothing terribly novel or brave. I think it’s safe to say that I’ve broken out of my comfort zone and not only begun to take risks when it comes to color and design, but to have a lot of fun with them as well! There was the dusk and copper board, neon inspiration, bohemian Anthropologie hues, and this month’s art nouveau inspiration, and today I have another adventurous combination that I’m very excited about!
This palette takes its inspiration from a bouquet of jade leaves, juicy kumquats, and rich orchid ranunculus – vibrant, modern, and unexpected. The silvery green of citrus leaves creates a gorgeous background for jewel toned purple blooms and citrus accents. These came from kumquats, persimmons, and apricots – pops of color from seasonal fruit add a fun and unexpected touch to summer or autumn flowers. Loose botanical inspired arrangements are perfectly suited to an unconventional venue, while raw, natural textures make a lovely compliment to the vivid decor.

I love the industrial look!
I love jewel tones – these are gorgeous!
Simply perfect!
Beautiful color combination of flowers.
This color combination is ridiculously pretty!
Such a pretty one!
I liked going through your earlier work, nice! This is so pretty and the colours are exciting! I haven’t broken out of my comfort zone just yet but all of these fun boards are quite inspiring!
Your comfort zone happens to be in the middle of really gorgeous territory, so I’m ok waiting until you’re comfortable joining me on the wild side!
Love these colors together! Purple and burnt orange were part of my wedding colors, so of course I’m a fan!
