This NYC couple planned to celebrate their marriage with a modern, stylish wedding that was every bit the bride’s dream. Tom let Kathy have free rein when it came to planning their opulent city wedding. The luxe Park Hyatt New York perfectly fit her vision for a formal ceremony and great party, with over the top floral arrangements by Designs by Ahn including the cherry blossom trees gracing their ballroom ceremony. The bride’s flawless taste included a glamorous black, white, and blush color palette and multiple wedding day wardrobe changes from Pronovias! Stunning photos by Jeremy Chou Photography capture the chic style and heady emotion of the day, with a gorgeous video by NST Pictures to make sure they can relive every moment!
Kathy’s all-white bouquet featured the barest hint of blush. Designs by Ahn incorporated textural flowers like peonies, roses, snapdragons, and lisianthus to make sure the monochrome blooms popped against the bride’s white dress.
The bride’s amazing Charlotte Olympia wedding shoes featured an intricate laser cut design that echoed the design on her lace Pronovias wedding dress.
The couple shared an emotional first look at the Park Hyatt New York, giving them an intimate moment together before walking down the aisle.
For the ceremony, Kathy wore a gorgeously dramatic topper that turned her Pronovias column dress into a romantic A-line with long lace sleeves! The simple cathedral length veil blended into the long train, letting the detailing of the dress shine while upping the drama factor!
Kathy’s original vision for their wedding included all white flowers, but cherry blossoms have a mind of their own. Designs by Ahn created their dramatic ceremony arbor in the ballroom of the Park Hyatt New York, and the delicate cherry blossoms were already turning blush for spring. The subtle addition of blush into their ceremony decor gave the designer inspiration to add shades of pink into the rest of the flowers, giving the decor a romantic touch against the chic setting.
The drama and grandeur of the Park Hyatt New York made for the perfect venue, from the spectacular service to the light-drenched interior. The couple appreciated the luxe detailing as the backdrop for their wedding day, not to mention their ability to throw a truly incredible party!
The reception decor was subtle, from the neutral table linens, formal china, and centerpieces of towering cherry blossoms or low garden flowers. Pink peonies and sapphire blue glass favors added color to the shimmering candlelight of the ballroom.
Their modern black fondant cake with dramatic white monogram and a sugar flower topper was designed by Ron Ben Israel, ‘Manolo Blahnik of wedding cakes’. Kathy admired his artistry with desserts and sugar work, and had taken one of his courses in culinary school, so his involvement in their wedding day made for an exceptionally special cake!
The couple performed a beautifully choreographed first dance that necessitated one of Kathy’s wardrobe changes into a short lace reception dress with a flowing organza overskirt that let her dance the night away!
