I’m celebrating one of my favorite wedding trends today with an ethereal woodland wedding inspiration board! For the last few year’s we’ve seen rustic weddings interpreted in burlap and mason jars, but there are so many other ways to give your wedding that organic, woodsy style! I have always loved the idea of a woodland wedding – blooming florals, earthy tones, and a gorgeous outdoor location set the perfect stage for an event that celebrates the natural beauty of your venue, wherever it may be.
The best way to develop a color scheme is to use your surroundings – the ambient colors of the location and the season – and when it comes to a forest setting, what could be a more fitting combination than green and brown? All right, ‘green and brown’ doesn’t sound like the most romantic palette, but when you’re talking about leafy green vines and worn brown barn wood, it certainly gives it a different spin. Add in soft, neutral tones in blush and ivory – matte sequins, tissue-thin chiffon, delicately blushing petals, and it adds warmth to an earthy color combination. There’s so much room for romance when it comes to a woodland setting – this is the place of fairy tales, after all! A sweeping gown and jeweled accessories create an elfin princess bridal look, while loose and lush florals mixed in with jewel-bright garlands capture the enchantment of the forest.
