This gorgeous shoot celebrates fine art wedding style in more ways than one! The vibrant colors and abundant fall florals were inspired by the dramatic style of painter Frida Kahlo. Milton Photography and event designer Birds & Honey created the shoot around the floral motif that is indelibly associated with Frida’s self portraits.
Edmonton based Akiko Floral Artistry Inc brought the flowers of Frida Kalho’s paintings to life, starting with a signature flower crown reminiscent of many of the painter’s self portraits. Brightly colored roses and fall leaves topped the bride’s braided updo, echoing her dramatic cascade bouquet. Jewel toned flowers and glossy leaves made a bold statement against the bride’s delicate blush gown. The bright colors reappeared in the groom’s attire – a dapper suit in navy blue windowpane check and a coral pocket square added a preppy vibe to the botanical details of the shoot.
The gorgeous palette and overflowing flowers continued to the Sweetheart Table, set against the backdrop of the Canadian woods. The colors echoed the palette of the bride’s attire, with a vibrant centerpiece gracing the soft blush linens. Ornate gold place settings awaited the bride and groom, with clear acrylic chairs adorned with more of the colorful flowers!
