Rustic Farmhouse Wedding Inspired by a Field of Wheat

Xiaoqi Li Photography and Day by Fay drew inspiration from the Blue Ridge Mountains when dreaming up the rustic farmhouse style of this lovely bohemian wedding shoot! They drew inspiration from the textures and colors of the fields of wheat stretching at the base of the mountains, and decided to celebrate the beauty and diversity of the plant! Fresh baked bread and craft beer brought to life the flavors of wheat, while the hand drawn invitations from JenChe Designs and beautiful flower arrangements by I Do Weddings with Love made sure it was represented in the decor!

I Do Weddings with Love dreamed up a flower and wheat circlet for the bride to give a new twist on a traditional flower crown! She looked festival ready in a high-neck empire waist lace wedding dress by Ayvazyan & de Beauvoir Couture Bridal.

The gorgeous bouquet by I Do Weddings with Love was all about texture, pairing pampas grass and stems of dried wheat with more traditional white flowers to create a foraged from the field look!

The shoot took place at the Devils Backbone Brewing Company in the Blue Ridge Mountains, setting the scene with a gorgeous rustic landscape and rich golden light. Sara and Robbie prepared for their upcoming wedding day by posing as the bride and groom to capture the sweetest portraits!

For the reception, the team wanted to capture the power of the surrounding wheat fields. Fresh baked bread loaves from MarieBette Café & Bakery, a fruit and cheese tray by Tilman’s Cheese and Wine, and beer from Devils Backbone Brewing Company created a farmhouse spread perfect for the intimate wedding!
