I’m introducing one of my favorite new color palettes for autumn with today’s modern bohemian wedding inspiration! Amber and yellow are an unexpectedly chic pairing, capturing the warmth of thinning autumn sunlight. To me, amber is the color of vintage glass bottles, whiskey drinks that you feel all the way down into your toes, and rich leather. There’s something mature and cozy about it – cognac sparkling behind cut glass, a chesterfield sofa that you just want to sink into. In this case it serves as a punctuating color in a neutral palette, bringing grounding earth tones to lighter hues.
While the amber is down to earth, pale yellow brings a lighter, airier touch to the design. Against ivory and bone backdrops, or against the fading green of autumn foliage, it captures those last drops of sun in the hearts of flowers or candles burning against the dark. The combination is beautifully suited to the fading colors as summer shifts into fall, or reversed to symbolize regrowth as the land comes back to life in the spring.
