It’s here at last – Lost Lake comes out today! I’m celebrating with a sweet, Southern lake wedding to cap off this series of Sarah Addison Allen’s books. In case you missed them, there’s still time to be enchanted by Garden Spells, The Sugar Queen, The Girl Who Chased the Moon, and The Peach Keeper. This has been such a fun design exercise and a great excuse to dive back into some of my favorite stories!
Where do I start with Lost Lake? Well, it made me cry and call my mom to tell her I love her, so there’s that. I could dive right into details and the plot elements I wanted to incorporate into the board, but I don’t want to give too much away! I wanted the board to capture the feeling of a dreamy, Southern summer by the lake. Soft hues fit best, the blushing peach hues of a sunset or roses draped on an old rowboat, punctuated by vibrant cobalt blue. Like all of Sarah’s books, this one heavily features mouthwatering descriptions of food, and will leave you longing for French pastries and tarts! The tone of the book is fairly easy-going (all the easier to heap on all the feels, apparently) so a relaxed and simple wedding would be the perfect fit.
