It’s not hard to guess why I’m head over heels for today’s enchanted garden wedding, from its vibrant palette of pink and blush to the bride’s gorgeous style to the heartfelt and intimate ceremony that focused on family! Every detail of Shannon and Lane’s wedding day focused on the personal and telling their story, in the most stunning and romantic way possible. Rich fine art photos from Heather Payne and lush summer flowers from Abany Bauer make this North Carolina wedding at the Old Edwards Inn & Spa a treat for the eyes and for the heart.
The romantic European style of the Old Edwards Inn in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains set the scene for an ethereal wedding day with plenty of classical charm. Bride to be Shannon wanted to focus on the natural beauty of the garden setting to bring her wedding vision to life. Abany Bauer helped her realize her palette of rich pink, delicate blush, cream, and hints of slate blue with lush, summer flowers that looked as though they had been just harvested moments before the bride walked down the aisle. Vibrant coral charm peonies took center stage in the bride and bridesmaid’s bouquet – even one for the bride’s mother!
An intimate wedding allowed their family to form the heart of their wedding day. Their nearest and dearest gathered around a floral arch while Shannon and Lane exchanged their vows. Wrought iron lanterns outlined an aisle for them to make their ecstatic walk after being declared husband and wife, while their guests kept to their feet after standing by their side for their vow exchange. The most adorable flower girls ever exercised their duty in sweet floral crowns and rosebud necklaces, a sweet twist on a basket of petals. Even their cake, a two tier confection dressed in silky buttercream, fit the theme with a cascade of peony blooms in bright pink and blush!
