When winter refuses to leave and makes itself at home with record breaking snow, why not make the best of it with an epic shoot? Nicole Colwell Photography saw the opportunity to capture a gorgeous vintage floral wedding surrounded by snow drifts!
Nicole’s plans for a spring shoot at The Old Mill Farm had to be put on hold when February swept in with eight inches of snow. The pristine blanket of white made a gorgeous setting for the romantic vintage details of the shoot, starting with the bride’s heirloom gown! Her mother originally wore the dress to her wedding, making for a meaningful addition to the shoot. The bride and groom braved -21 degree weather for gorgeous portraits against the stunning snowscape.
While the wether may have been an unwelcome surprise, it set the scene for a dreamy early spring design. The farm provided vintage furniture and decor to create a gorgeous Sweetheart Table – the delicate floral print in the vintage settee inspired a petite bud motif picked up by the plates and barely open blooms in the garland runner on the farm table. A bouquet of early tulips, hydrangeas, and spray roses hinted at the warmth of spring to come in pale shades of peach and blue.
