I’m getting into the swing of gorgeous fall weddings with today’s stunning autumn harvest wedding from Lisa Mallory Photography! All right, Rebecca and Brendan were married in March, but their wedding day at Santa Margarita Ranch has all of the trappings of a beautiful autumn affair. Early spring and late autumn bear a striking resemblance to each other in California, with greening grass spreading underneath leafless trees, and grapevines just getting ready to change. Their cheerful white and orange color scheme adds the perfect pop of color to a time of year when the days are short, and they added a merry touch of sunshine alongside vintage furniture and rustic details beautifully suited to the ranch venue.
Rebecca and Brendan held their first look on the covered porch of the sweetly appointed farmhouse on the Southern California ranch. They combined their classic wedding day style – a strapless sweetheart gown for her and a charcoal gray three piece suit for him – with burnt orange details that beautifully tied their wedding day attire into the rustic surroundings. They kept details simple at the ceremony under the historic property’s grand oak tree, with an adorable pig shaped puzzle for guests to sign and the first of many calligraphy chalkboard signs that would welcome guests throughout the event. The bridesmaids, in their vibrant orange gowns and white statement necklaces, added their statement hue to the otherwise simple ceremony. The lovely couple said their vows in front of a vintage mantelpiece adorned with sweet orange blooms.
While guests enjoyed His and Hers specialty cocktails, the sweet sounds of a Mumford and Sons-esque bluegrass band, and some seriously adorable vintage lounge vignettes, Brendan and Rebecca trekked across the ranch to capture the perfect portraits. The moody vistas of the ranch provided a gorgeous backdrop against the spring sky. Their portraits are a gorgeous example of the raw beauty of the California landscape, with statuesque oak trees dotting the plains, surrounded by the rolling hills in the distance.
Their reception took place in the grand barn on the ranch property – the epitome of a rustic wedding! The barn held a mixture of farm tables in reclaimed wood and round tables dressed in white linen, laid with burlap runners and more sunny orange flowers in tin cans painted a crisp white. Guests dined under bistro lighting hanging from the rafters overhead, with menus and escort cards on Kraft paper and utensils wrapped in twine.
