Cozy and intimate was the goal for Lauren and Mark’s wine red winter wedding in Fort Worth, with a dash of vintage bohemian glamour for good measure! They planned their small winter wedding around the food and venue at Magdalena’s Cocina Mexicana Local, bringing in eclectic antique decor, luxe jewel tones, and fun personal pieces to create their dream wedding with serious style! Amazing wedding photos by Bertha Torres showcase the Texas couple’s love and romantic wedding day to perfection!
Lauren surprised herself by going for sparkle in her wedding day attire! Although she had envisioned herself in a simple wedding dress originally, it was a beaded lace Maggie Sottero dress that was The One. The vintage inspired silhouette and detailing was a perfect fit for the antique decor that she curated for their ceremony, and the sparkle picked up here crystal Bella Belle Shoes and earrings from Olive and Piper.
After meeting in college while Lauren attended Texas A&M University, the couple were engaged during a birthday weekend at a lake house on Horseshoe Bay. Mark planned a surprise getaway to include their family and friends, with a proposal kicking off their amazing weekend trip!
Their wedding planning journey officially started after dinner at a local supper club, Magdalena’s Cocina Mexicana Local in Fort Worth, Texas. The couple loved the delicious and unique food, and didn’t leave without making a date with the event planner to discuss their wedding plans! The private venue allowed them to combine a beautiful setting with exquisite onsite catering, and Lauren dove in to creating her wedding vision from there!
One of the key elements of their wedding style was a wine red winter theme to add rich color. Lauren picked up the signature cranberry hue in focal points like this stunning red velvet couch for photos! From there, she added greenery details and gold decor to create a romantic and seasonal theme.
The bride left some room in her color palette to play with different shades, and her bridesmaids wore mismatched floor length dresses in jewel tones and velvet. Burgundy, evergreen, and ruby red came together in a stunning bridal party, and Alba Dahlia Floral combined those shades with notes of blush pink and sage green in her wild bouquet!
Alba Dahlia Floral helped the couple style this vintage bohemian ceremony that looked as though they got married in a chic antique store! Colorful rugs, rustic wooden pews, and a gold geometric backdrop came together to create a stunning indoor ceremony accented with colorful floral arrangements and lit by modern crystal chandeliers.
Lauren was a picture perfect vintage bride in her 1920’s inspired beaded wedding dress and soft side updo by Shannon Brianne Beauty. A deep red lip accented her wine red winter palette and Old Hollywood Glamour to perfection!
The couple took rustic industrial wedding photos on the private terrace with views of downtown Fort Worth before celebrating with their families! They kept the guest count small to allow them lots of time to enjoy the day visiting with their close family and friends.
The bride worked with several Texas rental companies to source the perfect details and decor for the wine red winter reception! She pored over pieces from Warehouse Rose Events, Sugar Creek Event Rentals, and Rent My Dust to create the red, pink, and gold palette for their cozy indoor reception.
Gold rimmed chargers, red napkins, and pink depression champagne glasses inspired the centerpieces of bush and wine red, accented by rose gold mercury candles. Lauren noticed that the pieces she liked from their vintage rental catalogues all had the same color scheme and theme of old school glamour, and used those elements to design the rest of her reception decor. A fun exception was their neon sign ‘Better Together’!
The gorgeous cake from Loft 22 Cakes took a special place at the reception by utilizing their ceremony arch! A vintage gold bar cart stood in as the dessert table for their one-tiered semi-naked cake, with fresh fruit and flowers as a topper.
