Wedding Greenery Goes Glam for a Tuscan Inspired Affair
Miranda and Austin took a winding road to their effortlessly glam wedding day – they describe their love story as their own version of the Notebook. High school sweethearts who went their own way after graduation, they reunited five years later at a mutual friend’s engagement party – although they were in other relationships at the time, it was clear that their story together was not over.
After reuniting, the couple began planning their wedding at Horseshoe Bay Resort – the venue held many happy childhood memories for Miranda and her parents, especially her mother, Miriam. Miriam’s battle with cancer prompted the pair to exchange their vows in an intimate backyard ceremony several months before the planned wedding day. They were able to celebrate their marriage with Miranda’s beloved mother just days before she passed away peacefully.
Miriam’s presence was still felt in every aspect of their big day – photos from their backyard wedding greeted guests as they entered the reception, and her famous balsamic dressing recipe accompanied the Tuscan olive oil favors.
When it came to planning their wedding day style, effortless elegance with more than a hint of sex appeal was the order of the day. Miranda’s fitted crepe and illusion lace wedding dress was a showstopper as the walked down the aisle on her father’s arm. The plunging back and lace trimmed sheath skirt created a gorgeous silhouette against the mismatched gold sequins gowns her bridesmaids wore! Disch Events created organic bouquets of eucalyptus, ranunculus, garden roses, succulents, and bells of Ireland to stand out against the luxe elegance of the bride and her maids.
Personal details made their reception especially gorgeous – chairs and tables adorned with greenery and neutral flowers, not to mention the wreaths wrapped around the tiered buttercream cake. The groom’s cake offered a fun twist, with dessert versions of Austin’s favorite tacos!
After dancing the night away, the couple bid farewell to their guests with a moonlight boat send off to start their married life off right!
