I am so excited to kick off this beauty series on styling a bridal headpiece! Pairing Haute Bride and Hayley Paige pretty much guarantees some seriously pretty bridal style, and today’s feature is no exception, if I do say so myself! I partnered with the H-Team to style a series of hairstyling tutorials paired with gowns from Hayley’s latest collection and Haute Bride’s couture bridal accessories and today is just part 1 of 3! Moderne Beauty created 3 stunning bridal looks to complement the fresh-off-the-runway gowns and 1985 Luke Photography captured all the pretty!
The first look to get our love paired the Tanner by Hayley Paige with Haute Bride’s HB125. The modern mermaid gown with floral lace and layers of tulle was a perfect match for the bold halo with gold flowers and White Opal Swarovski crystals. To complement the show stopping beauty of the headpiece and the gown, Moderne Beauty and I wanted to a hairstyle that was low key but with plenty of style. Loose, sexy waves perfectly showcased the asymmetrical halo style!
Styling Loose, Sexy Waves
Moderne Beauty prepped our lovely model’s hair by sectioning off the top, middle and bottom, and clipping the sections up and out of the way.
She used heat protecting spray on each section before curling.
Using a 1.5″ Curling Iron, she wrapped individual sections around the barrel, starting the wrap at the base of the head for a natural spiral curl. For a more natural and less uniform style, she alternated the direction of the wrapped strands.
Once all hair was wrapped, our gorgeous bride had adorable, bouncy curls!
Adorable wasn’t exactly what we had in mind, but Moderne Beauty was far from done!
She dabbed texture cream on her fingertips and ran them through the tight curls to loosen them. Strands kept their shape, but the overall effect was less uniform and more breezy and natural – perfect for our bridal style!
Hairstyling is only part of the look – to complement our gown and accessories, Moderne created a glam smokey eye with a subtle berry lip.
Once she was all dolled up, it was time for the finishing touches – the dress and the headpiece! The side part and simple but sexy hairstyle created the perfect balance for the asymmetrical halo with a cluster of gold flowers on one side. The blend of modern meets bohemian glam was practically made for the Tanner dress, with a romantic corset bodice adorned with floral lace.
