Lovers of handmade wedding details will absolutely rejoice in the amazing pictures from Alan and Yenisleidy’s wedding day in Fort Meyers, FL! The bride spent their long engagement dreaming up and designing the perfect decor for their boho garden wedding day at Burroughs Home and Gardens, working with her incredible team of vendors to bring her sketches to stunning life. Katia Popik Photography was the perfect choice to capture the stunning pink and taupe decor and amazing portraits of this sweet bride and groom and their loved ones in this creative and stunning wedding day!
The bride designed the invitations herself and had them printed online, choosing an elegant combination of lettered script and sans serif fonts to carry through the rest of the wedding signs and decor to create a stunning ‘brand’ for their wedding day!
Alan proposed to Yeni six years into their relationship, after meeting in college. Their friendship eventually grew into something much stronger, and the couple planned a trip to Europe. They were both captivated by the architecture of Ronda, Spain during their planning and made it a destination on their trip. Alan searched for a quiet spot on the Puente Nuevo, asking Yeni to pose for a picture with the city in the backdrop, and caught her surprised reaction when he brought out the ring! She said yes! to a gorgeous pear shaped diamond in a classic band.
The bride wanted an updated look on a traditional long sleeve wedding dress – she loved the look of lace sleeves and found that an off the shoulder illusion style with a low back perfectly blended the classic look with a more modern feel. Her gorgeous gown had a stunning long train that made for absolutely incredible portraits throughout the vintage estate the chose as their venue.
Alan went for a formal look for his groom’s attire, in a classic black suit and bow tie. The jacket helped him stand out from his groomsmen in crisp white shirts and black vests.
To keep her bridal look less formal and lean into the fresh boho look she loved, the bride chose to wear her hair down with loose waves. Hair by Ada Tabaku helped her bring the look to life, adding a half halo headpiece to set off her long hair.
Flowers were a major priority for Yeni! She knew she wanted a garden look to the arrangements and spent the months leading up to the wedding visiting floral wholesalers to test out different looks and create sample arrangements. A last minute change to their plans put her in touch with Nandi Chin Events only nine days before the wedding, but Nandi immediately grasped her vision for the flowers and drew from the bride’s hand drawn sketches and guides. Nandi created the beautiful bouquets from garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, amaranth, and astilbe to create a gorgeous combination of pink and blush. Pampas grass in the bride’s bouquet ensured it stood out from the rest of the bridal party and added a whimsical touch to the lush garden flowers.
Yeni knew she wanted a garden nymph look for her bridesmaid and had them choose long burgundy dresses in their favorite style. She gifted them with statement earrings and druzy rings to tie the looks together. The bridal party came together to make the flower crowns each one would wear down the aisle, which the bride learned how to make from online tutorials!
Keeping the wedding decor consistent was a major priority, and Yeni sourced her signage from Etsy vendors who could create custom pieces with the same lettering she used for their invitations! The gorgeous white calligraphy on modern acrylic tied their wedding day details together from the very first sign welcoming guests to their unplugged ceremony.
Youtube and Pinterest featured heavily in the planning process, and the bride taught her wedding team how to create the braided look for the draping on the ceremony chairs from an online tutorial!
Their stunning wedding ceremony took place on the grounds of Burroughs Home and Gardens in Fort Myers, FL. The couple knew they wanted to steer away from a beach wedding, and loved the greenery and oak trees that made their venue feel lush and intimate. Their ceremony created a stunning backdrop for their vows, with airy drapery and a floral swag on the wooden frame.
This gorgeous couple celebrated eight years together in this dreamy boho garden wedding day!
The bride designed a photo guest book for their guests to sign in, using a retro polaroid camera to capture their photos along with their wishes for the happy couple!
The reception was a gorgeous reflection of the bride’s vision and meticulous planning! She sourced the perfect lanterns for their sweetheart table and candles in just the right shade of taupe to create the most stunning color palette with their flowers in every shade of pink.
The reception venue was a first for Burroughs Home and Gardens, but Yeni knew exactly how to transform the access area into the wedding of her dreams. She had a vision of the oak tress wound in twinkle lights and adorned with drapery and chandeliers and made sure her team knew exactly how to execute it. Months of planning and hand drawn sketches helped them bring her vision to beautiful life, and the oak grove was transformed with long farm tables, airy silk table runners, colorful flowers, and welcoming candlelight.
Guests found their place with escort cards designed by the bride that read ‘Let Love Grow’. She hand lettered each name in gold and added “Love grows best in the care of family & friends. Thank you for celebrating with us.” Each guest was gifted with a succulent favor in a gold votive that added a lovely detail to their tabletop! Acrylic table numbers in wooden holders brought back her lovely sign design and added a modern touch to the garden flowers and wood chargers.
Smallcakes Cupcakery & Creamery Garland brought Yeni’s cake dream to life in this modern white wedding cake. Touches of naked frosting and a drizzle frosting accent all matched her vision, along with carefully placed flowers, macarons, and gold leaf. The bride herself sourced the dried figs to add texture and color since they weren’t in season!
A sparkler send off made sure the new husband and wife departed their wedding in style and Alan caught his bride up in a picture perfect dip!
