The rich heritage of Southern California Spanish style was at the forefront of this unique and creative wedding inspiration shoot from Michelle Ramirez Photography and Karen Marie Events. The history of Olivas Adobe in Ventura, CA, provided a wealth of design ideas that this amazing team updated to incorporate modern boho style. The colorful flowers by Tangled Lotus, lace wedding dresses from Panache Bridal, and nods to Mexican wedding traditions came together to create this old world meets modern event that is sure to inspire!
Stationery designer Sweet Sentimentality kicked things off with an elegant metallic invitation suite. Copper foil lettering created a modern effect, while old world accents like the lace patterned envelope liners and wax seal spoke to the Spanish styling to come.
Earth tones for the bride’s bouquet were a perfect pick for the hacienda setting at Olivas Adobe. Coral, yellow, and burnt orange combined in the bouquet by Tangled Lotus to complement the Southern California Spanish influence and colors of the setting. The bride looked bohemian chic in an off the shoulder lace wedding dress from Panache Bridal!
Brenda Hendricks Artistry styled the bride’s wavy hairstyle with a simple side sweep anchored with blush roses. She complemented the deep colors of the flowers and decor with a dark lip for added drama.
The groom looked Southern California classic with a neutral suit from Friar Tux. The tan jacket and suit pants got a stylish lift from a floral patterned pocket square and tie!
How gorgeous are these two? The stunning grounds at Olivas Adobe provided a myriad of gorgeous locations for portraits, from the garden with 100-year-old fuchsia and a grape arbor to the hacienda dating back to the early California mission period.
The bride changed into a form-fitting lace gown with blush undertones that added the perfect amount of modern boho style to the Southern California Spanish surroundings!
Tangled Lotus opted for rich colors for the tablescape, setting farm tables with chiffon runners, vintage china, and colorful glassware. colors of coral, yellow, olive green, and dusty rose came together in a stunning reception design that celebrated the colors of traditional mission style.
Metallic accents – from copper flatware to the gold foil menu cards at each place setting – complemented the dark jewel tones of the decor. A churro at each place setting was a delicious way to welcome guests!
I’m smitten with this Sweetheart Table, combining vintage decor from Amigo Party Rentals Inc. with colorful floral decor that added the perfect accent.
The dessert display celebrated the idea that ‘El Amore es Dulce’ – ‘Love is Sweet’.
Sweet D’s Cakes created the cake using amber lace that evoked the design on the bride’s dress. Traditional Mexican cookies and colorful pan dulce Chilled sweet tea with orange slices and shots of tequila in pink salt shot glasses capped off the amazing flavors chosen to delight the senses!
