Misty Hills and Mystical Stars for this Small Wedding Ceremony and Backyard Reception
The night sky theme for this stardust-inspired shoot translated into an ethereal combination of gold and purple, with romantic moody farmhouse flowers from Sprigs Floral Design! The sequin stars on the bride’s dress looked like a scatter of starlight against the flowing tulle A-line skirt!
The attire for this small wedding ceremony inspiration is out of this world! The stardust wedding dress from the appropriately named Moondance Bridal in San Luis Obispo was the perfect choice for an elopement dress – a little unique and creative but still utterly romantic and with the once-in-a-lifetime quality you’d want in a photos you’ll treasure forever.
The groom’s look from Hey Gorgeous Formal Wear represented the darkness of the night sky, with a gold flecked bowtie to echo starlight against the black velvet tux jacket.
Circles hold a lot of symbolism when it comes to weddings and ceremonial traditions – the continuous loop is represented through wedding rings as ‘love without end’, making it a particularly poignant motif to use throughout the wedding decor. With that in mind, Spark & Sparkle Events and Sprigs Floral Design dreamed up this round ceremony backdrop, using chevron wooden pillars draped in garlands and purple flowers inside a rind of white crystals. The free-form circular ceremony backdrop brought in the landscape of misty hills behind Higuera Ranch. The simple yet visually powerful details would be the perfect pick for a beautiful backyard wedding ceremony!
As if the handmade barnwood pillars and circle of crystals for the handfasting ceremony weren’t enough, the bride’s wedding day look added a modern bohemian touch with a feather cape that helped keep away the chill of the misty air! Central California hair and makeup artist The Queen’s Bees complemented the relaxed bridal look with loose beachy waves in a low knot half-updo to make sure everything about this small wedding inspiration felt beautifully attainable.
The symbol of circles continued into the backyard wedding reception! The dining tables were set in the round, with guests facing each other for an intimate celebration. The celestial midnight blue tablecloths from Blush Fine Linens represented the night sky, with quartz rock crystal napkin rings and scattered stardust on the tables.
Deep burgundy flowers complemented the midnight blue tones of the table decor, accented by white taper candles in heavy antique silver holders. Rock candy wedding favors were a fun way to add sweetness and texture along with a little sparkle!
The misty mountains were calling! Nikkels Photography took the bride and groom to the hills for this amazing adventure photoshoot! The rolling hills around the San Luis Obispo wedding venue made for the most stunning portraits as the couple roamed the outdoors together.
