Is there a more perfect color for a rustic winery wedding than rich purple? Kelsey and James chose a palette of deep purple and burgundy for their summer wedding at Bernardo Winery, a historic vineyard in Southern California. heidi-o-photo captured the beautiful purple details like jewels against the lush summer vines, and the rustic details of the winery. The floral team at Rancho Bernardo Inn created a gorgeous hand-tied bouquet of deep burgundy peonies, ferns, and summer wildflowers for Kelsey to carry, along with simpler clutches for the bridesmaids to carry against their eggplant dresses.
The setting itself provide much of the inspiration for their decor – as the oldest operating winery in Southern California, there were plenty of vintage items on hand to create the perfect rustic ambiance. The Spanish inspired architecture of the winery itself and the cultivated grounds added a sophisticated air. Kelsey and James incorporated corks into their decor with a custom made sign spelling out their new last name, Moon! They added more beautiful purple florals into their ceremony arch and as adornments on their cake, a simple three-tier buttercream confection given drama with clusters of deep purple flowers and greenery. My favorite detail is the birch bark heart engraved with their initials!
