Take a mini summer vacation to a stunning Italian villa with today’s dreamy destination wedding shoot! I can’t think of any photographer better suited to capture the golden light of Tuscany than Mike Larson. He and Jill Lafleur were inspired by the graceful beauty Villa Catignano to create a shoot that celebrated the rustic charm and couture style of Italy!
An ethereal chiffon gown by Samuelle Couture captured the texture and elegance of the villa’s stone walls. Pillar candles illuminated the villa’s 17th century chapel for an intimate and romantic ceremony while the courtyard served as the perfect location for the reception. Escort cards with each name hand lettered on local marble tiles greeted the handful of guests staying in the villa. A farm table set with handmade crockery and raw linen got a dose of color from sea foam green stoneware and amethyst glasses.
The stunning surroundings of the villa made for the perfect backdrop for a romantic portrait session. Local stone and climbing vines added the textures of the surrounding countryside to the shoot, from the bride’s olive bouquet to the elegantly rustic wedding cake. When dusk fell, the bride and groom lit candles along the edge of the villa’s wall to capture the last rays of the sun as it set over Tuscany.
