Raw and Refined Elegant Winter Wedding in Slate and Stone

The weather is cooling down but wedding planning season is just heating up, so I’m excited to present today’s elegant winter wedding inspiration! Today’s slate and stone inspiration comes from the raw yet refined elegance of a historic villa.

A gorgeous manor house, old stone walls bearing the weight of centuries but the echo of years of happiness, is a spectacular setting to celebrate two lives coming together. Old, worn stones have shifting muted hues that inspired this palette of deep slate and stone – the subtle changes in the blue and gray hues add depth and tonality – contrast comes from fresh white florals, slim pillar candles, and luxuriously thick letterpress paper goods. Just a hint of gold – vintage candlesticks, calligraphed place cards, a custom stamp in metallic sealing wax – adds a subtly regal tone suited to the surroundings. A raw edge on menu cards, weathered slate pieces as chargers under bone china plates, and dining under the airy columns of a villa’s portico add the perfect hint of roughness to balance the grandeur of the surroundings.
