Of the Ocean – An Elegant Bohemian Beach Bride Editorial

Summer feels so close thanks to this gorgeous bohemian beach bride shoot from Katie Grant Photography! The wild, elemental beauty of the Southern California coast inspired the breezy style of the gorgeous bride, as well as the delicate ocean details of the decor!

A stone outcropping carved from the waves became the setting for an elegant Sweetheart Table. The beautifully polished wood hosted a spread of driftwood and coral surrounding place settings of bone china and natural blue linen. A hint of gold from the flatware and the subtle rainbow shimmer of capiz shell place cards added subtle glamour to the organic textures. A petite cake of buttercream in swirled watercolor shades boasted a topper of crushed sugar sand with small clusters of white coral.

To add a refined edge to the raw beauty of the scenery, Katie styled a relatively simple bridal look that captured the romance of the sea. The sleek mermaid gown from Here Comes the Bride was embellished with delicate lace flowing down the sweeping train. The thin straps perfectly embodied a beach chic bridal look, especially when paired with glowing natural makeup and a fishtail braid. A pearl engagement ring, a gorgeous symbol of the bounty of the sea, beautifully finished off the look, but Katie wasn’t quite done! As the sun started to set and turn the sapphire waves to gold, she added a filmy tulle veil and a crown of shells, turning the sweet bridal look into an ocean goddess.
