When it came to planning the ultimate destination wedding inspiration in Mexico, creative team Crosby + Jon fell head over heels for the Grand Velas Los Cabos, choosing to channel the combination of modern architecture, five star cuisine, and beautiful views of Sea of Cortez into an ethereal sand and sea glass beach wedding day! They took full advantage of the unhurried nature of a destination wedding to plan a pre-honeymoon pool party and a colorful fiesta rehearsal dinner to make the most of their stay in paradise!

Playa Del Carmen-based hair stylist and makeup artist Zoë Elizabeth Makeup went for a flowing, beachy updo full of tousled salt spray waves, paired with luminous sun-kissed skin!

The white sand beach at Grand Velas Los Cabos kept the ceremony private and intimate, with a barefoot in the sand vibe mixed with coastal elegance! White muslin flags fluttered in the breeze to create a ceremony backdrop that incorporated the crystal clear horizon, while the beach was dressed with driftwood-inspired chairs and a garden path aisle of blue and white delphiniums and pampas grass.

Long Reception Tables Under a Sheer Tent

The surrounding ocean was invited into every element of the coastal reception! Guests had a perfect view of the sea from the Terrazzo Del Mar, where production team VVRPRO set a sheer canopy thin enough to see the stars.

A blend of wood and linen chairs suited the laid back elegance creative team Crosby + Jon had in mind, setting the single long table with wood chargers, porcelain plates, and modern brass flatware from Warehouse Rentals. Floral designer Pina accented the long table with arrangements of garden flowers in white, blue, and salmon, while strands of aqua sea glass beads wound through indigo votives and gray taper candles to complete the sea-chic color scheme.

This glamorous honeymoon look channels Riviera style in Mexico with a black one piece and straw hat for a daring Grace Kelly vibe!

This team chose the Desert Garden Palapas for a festive fiesta dinner, surrounded by a native succulent garden and the ever-present ocean view! Hand woven Mexican linens and vibrant glass lanterns hung overhead played into the colorful details, accented by mid-century-modern Eiffel chairs for a unique touch.

Instead of a traditional seated dinner, guests were treated to a food display channeling a Mexican street market vibe. Haystacks, wine barrels, and a merchant cart served authentic Mexican cuisine and locally sourced fresh produce.

To play up the colorful theme, floral designer Elena Damy and rental house Del Cabo Weddings incorporated hand painted plates, patterned runners, and bright, jewel-toned floral arrangements to create a vivid setting! Personal touches included loral arrangements to compliment the colorful decor. Hand painted dinner plates, woven Mexican linens and vibrant glass lanterns hung overhead all made for statement decor elements. Our custom touches included vintage-inspired Loteria name cards for each guest. Places were set with Alebrijes, hand painted folk art animals, for a sweet take home!
