Summer in California is dark golden before the winter rains start and turn the hills green. I wanted to say one last good bye to that natural gold before what we can only hope will be a wet winter. The rolling velvet hills and natural grasses inspired today’s prairie palette of gold, gray, and green.
There’s a fierce kind of beauty to that rugged landscape, with bristling grasses and dusty green trees. Those tones are echoed in fluttering gray chiffon, raw linen, and amber whiskey. Silvery green branches pick up the muted color of oak trees that dot the hills, with simple white flowers for the meres hint of adornment. Hammered metal touches add sophistication to the rustic textures – vintage brass candlesticks, an antique crystal chandelier, a wedding cake covered in modern floral print, and a bridal headpiece made of golden branches and pearls.
