Tamra and Matt’s ranch chic wedding day in Northern California was a labor of love in so many way! After a sweet and intimate civil ceremony before their son was born, the childhood sweethearts decided to renew their vows at Yolanda Ranch near Davis, California. Their journey together began when they were children playing t-ball and lead to the family and the company they would create together. Olive and Birch Vintage Rentals began as the seed of their long awaited wedding day while Tamra planned and collected vintage pieces that would grow into something bigger than either of them could have expected! It is such an honor to share their beautiful story and wedding day!
Modern Ranch Chic Northern California Wedding
It just doesn’t get any more personal than this ranch chic wedding that was truly a once in a lifetime day for these two lovebirds! Matt cemented his status as the most stylish groom by selecting their wedding colors after finding his marsala suede shoes! Their palette of silvery green, gray, and burgundy was a beautiful fit for their ceremony and reception venue, Yolanda Ranch, with its ivy covered farmhouse facade. Tamra managed to make the palette her own with garnet bridesmaids’ dresses and a bouquet of eucalyptus, peach garden roses, and burgundy dahlias. Their son nearly stole the show in his custom made suit to match his dad’s with a floral print bow tie just like the groomsmen! The beautiful bride personalized her low back lace sheath wedding dress by adding buttons down the back and lace trimmed off the shoulder sleeves.
The ceremony arch where they renewed their vows to one another was a nod to one of Tamra’s favorite pieces from Olive and Birch, named for her mother’s favorite trees. It was one of many ways they honored the Mother of the Bride, a breast cancer survivor, along with a Farmer’s Market Cart at the reception to give her a clean, organic menu on their wedding day! The rest of the guests enjoyed a selection of agua fresca and a coffee bar, fresh donuts, and a cookies ‘n cream chocolate drizzle cake (the groom’s favorite).
The look of their wedding day owed its ranch chic style to Tamra’s collection of vintage pieces that grew into her rental company, Olive and Birch. From the farm tables Matt built by hand for their reception to the birch arbor for their vow renewal, the central pieces of their wedding day all represented their hard work and passion. Their Sweetheart Table combined the rustic and vintage decor in an antique settee adorned with calligraphy signs for the bride and groom and topped by a greenery chandelier to echo the garlands on their farm tables. Shimmer & Stain created hand lettered signage to suit the ranch chic style of their day, from the love quote on reclaimed barn wood that welcomed guests to the ceremony to the Kraft paper banners at their coffee bar and dessert table. Their combination of heartfelt choices and personal details made for a beautiful and unforgettable wedding day!
