This cozy coastal wedding embraced mauve decorating ideas and travel details to create one of the most gratitude-filled events I’ve ever seen! Longtime loves Matt and Alexa celebrated their marriage in a stunning late summer wedding day at Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland, WA, with exquisite planning by Simply By Tamara Nicole and photos by Amy Galbraith!
It’s all mauve-lous from here on out! This stunning signature color in their invitations, flowers, and decor was complemented by Classic Blue and blush accents, like the stationery suite designed by The Fancy Cat Studio.
The couple’s sweet Jack Russell terrier served as their puppy ring bearer! He also made himself right at home on the bride’s stunning ceremony dress – that’s right, there’s two gowns in this mauve wedding day!
It made perfect sense for their dog to take a part in the wedding since he was an important part of their proposal! After meeting in college as soccer team captains, this California native and Brit fell in love and dated for ten years before Matt popped the question! They went on a run together and Alexa was in the lead! At the halfway mark, she noticed a sticky note stuck to their dog’s harness that said ‘Daddy wants to ask you something’. Alexa was sure it was just another one of her boyfriend’s Post-It’s, but then he pulled her to a bench overlooking Elliott Bay and pulled out the ring! After much nervous (and excited) laughter from Alexa, she officially said yes and the trio began the trek back home as an engaged couple (and dog).
The bride’s ceremony dress by Eve of Milady from MeaMarie Bridal Atelier was the first dress she tried on! The off the shoulder neckline, long lace sleeves, and stunning train felt like everything fell into place and she knew what being a ‘bride’ feels like. She felt elegant and sophisticated, perfect for a timeless ceremony look.
The bridesmaids rocked mauve cocktail dresses with crystal sashes – the soft color tied in perfectly with Alexa’s summer-into-fall floral palette! Gather Design Company paired neutrals and jewel tones in the bridal party bouquets, with burgundy, cappuccino, blush, and white.
The couple had a coastal wedding ceremony at Woodmark Hotel. In a nod to Washington weather, they held their vows in a cozy and romantic tent alongside the waterfront. Garlands of greenery and flowers climbed the draped poles to add garden flowers to the airy canopy.
Alexa truly captured my heart with her love of creative wedding details! She paired mauve decorating ideas with personal decor to add lots of unique elements to their day! A memory table celebrated family members who couldn’t join them, including the groom’s grandparents who toasted them from England.
Sweet travel details nodded to their international relationship, including the globe she had made with an airplane coming traveling from England to Sacramento, and their card box which was an English post mail box! The Fancy Cat Studio created their frosted acrylic signs that both the bride and groom adored as a minimalist modern detail that paired with their mauve decorating ideas!
Alexa gave a special shoutout to their photographer, Amy Galbraith!
my Galbraith has an eye that captures priceless moments. Her work is what we loved (I noticed she did athletic shots..winner!) and then met her and it was a no brainer. I personally am not good in front of a camera and such an awkward person. It was my first time having professional pictures taken and she helped made us feel comfortable. I of course laughed my way through the engagement photos but was able to calm down as we progressed. Our wedding photos captured moments you don’t see yourself and came out so great. Amy even goes above and beyond with her presentations of the simple things from receiving mail from her with a bow to sending us a Christmas ornament with a picture from our wedding imprinted on it. Such a work of art she is.
How stunning is this modern ombre seating chart! The colorblocked escort cards ranged from blush to mauve to dusty coral. Guests were invited into the cozy tented reception with a view over the bay!
Blush silk table linens tied in with modern black elements on the tabletop, including frosted acrylic signs and moody blush and burgundy centerpieces.
Alexa’s Tia created this work of art wedding cake and dessert table that rivaled any Paris patisserie! Pies from A La Mode Pies were side by side with Tia‘s chocolate dipped pretzels, cake pops, monogrammed white wedding cake, and amazing Macaron towers!
Leave it to this sweet couple to make their guests feel like the day was all about them! Matt and Alexa worked with The Wells Makery to create personalized cards for every guest! The bride and groom’s included two of their loves – soccer, and their dog!
Some last words of gratitude from this amazing bride and groom!
Our favorite part was being surrounded by all the important people in our lives that made the effort to be there. Most of our guests traveled to be there, which we understand isn’t cheap. When people put the effort and time to support us, it is the most priceless and selfless act. And we couldn’t have been more thankful. I don’t see a time where we will ever get that moment back again-having our family and friends all together in one place. Now that is a dream come true!!
Our other favorite part was our vendors!! When you first start researching your vendors you do it based off their work, how it fits your style, and then it comes down to personality! I can’t express how much a personality outweighs the cost of anything. (Matt would say otherwise-He is more of the responsible one when it comes to money) For me, if someone is great, and I develop a connection I am sold. Probably why I blew our budget. Oops. Hehe.
But let’s be honest, our wedding day could not have been so perfect if it wasn’t for my coordinator Simply By Tamara Nicole! She made it stress free for us and went above and beyond to make sure everything run smoothly. We did not have to worry about a single thing.
We could literally go down the list of vendors we used and thank every one of them. And could give you a blurb of what makes each of them so special. I could go on for days. They made our dreams come true and to this day if there was anything we could do to promote them we will. So, if it is possible, to include them all and have them recognized for making our day, please do.
