What happens when two sweethearts meet in a city that is new to each of them? Jessica and Ross’s modern chic wedding became a beautiful reflection of the city that they both came to call home before meeting each other and exploring it together. St. Louis not only became the scene for their romance, but its presence in their wedding served to introduce out-of-town guest to the city they’ve come to call home. Oldani Photography did a phenomenal job of capturing the incredible details of their day, along with romantic rainy portraits, all flawlessly coordinated by Katie Saeger Events.
There are so many details to love in Jessica and Ross’s wedding day – from their modern chic palette of blue, white, and silver, to the incredible local touches that represented the city they call home together. Peacock Blooms Floral Design put together incredible bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids of eclectic, modern bloom – thistle and succulents added deep blue touches to voluminous white blooms and gray berries, gorgeously accenting the bridesmaids’ mismatching dresses in royal and navy blue, and Jessica’s sleek A-line wedding dress with crystal accessories.
Their celebration ranged from the chapel of the Catholic Student Center at Washington University to the brick halls and open rooftop of celebrated St. Louis venue, Jefferson Underground. The eclectic, modern style of the venue is hidden behind an Art Deco facade, allowing it to blend into historic downtown St. Louis and providing a gorgeous surprise for guests walking through the doors. Jessica and Ross’s family and friends were greeted by hanging Edison lights beaming over long, family-style dining tables adorned with white mono-floral centerpieces in bud vases and potted succulents, and a blue and white paper pinwheel backdrop.
Local goodies greeted guests at every turn – the family-style BBQ dinner was provided by local caterer, Bogart’s Smokehouse, while Frostbite Ice Cream provided an ice cream bas in lieu of wedding cake, Billy Goat Chips offered tasty favors – the bar even stocked locally brewed Schlafly Beer!
Guests made their way up to the Jefferson Underground‘s rooftop when it came time for dancing. Rockstar DJs truly lived up to their name when it came to getting the party going – guests danced the night away under the cloud sky hung with bistro lights in place of stars, with the city of St. Louis spread at their feet.
