Bold summer colors give this mismatched wedding a gorgeous modern look! Bride Taylor envisioned an eclectic and personal wedding day in the backyard her parents had turned into a garden oasis, and used her background as an event stylist to bring it all to life. The jewel tones of summer in Maryland played a huge part in styling Taylor and Philip’s stunning backyard wedding!
Mismatched Wedding Day with Colorful Summer Style
Taylor faced the classic dilemma of a wedding pro who gets engaged – narrowing down the flood of gorgeous inspiration into something that feels personal and heartfelt. Her position as an event designer for Syzygy Events offered up a wealth of ideas that coalesced into the perfect wedding day when she pictured her parents’ backyard. The arbor her father built in the backyard became the centerpiece for their wedding ceremony, with modern colorful arrangements from Nosegay Flowers to adorn the trellis and line the aisles. An eclectic array of benches and wicker chairs turned into a beautifully cohesive ceremony arrangement under Taylor’s skilled hands, while maintaining the homey and welcoming atmosphere that she treasured. For her bridesmaids, Taylor selected a flowing purple skirt to unify her bridal party and allowed her attendants to select the white top of their choice, creating a beautifully mismatched bridesmaid look! Philip opted for a bespoke navy blue suit, since the bride shouldn’t get to have all the fun on their wedding day! His groomsmen paired stylish blue suits with brown accessories for a look that managed to be both timeless and fitting their casual style, while Maryland flag socks hinted and their home state pride.
They pair could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding day, with golden summer light infusing every photo captured by Casto Photo. To capitalize on the beauty of her childhood home, Taylor selected a clear top tent that let in the summer sunshine and the night sky. Guest found their seats thanks to a custom barn wood seating chart, which led them to eclectically decorated tables. Mercury glass and modern copper vessels added a hint of metallic glam to the varied styles decorating each table, from bold ikat printed linens to runners of colorful summer flowers. Geometric gold table numbers tied the mismatched table designs together for a fun and cohesive look!

Such a clever idea for the wedding invitations! Printing on translucent paper and attaching it to a printed design, great thinking of the beautiful couple. Congratulations!
