I’ve made no secret of my love of color, but today’s vintage lace wedding inspiration celebrates my favorite way to style a neutral wedding – with lots of luxurious texture! There’s always the risk that softer colors – cream, ivory, and taupe – will look bland on camera, but of course there are ways to work around that. I wanted to create a look that celebrates that delicate palette, but still manages to pop on camera. The most expected way to incorporate lace into your wedding day is, of course, the dress! An A-line gown with layers and layers of skirt adorned with delicate floral lace will perfectly set the scene for a romantic wedding with a sweet, vintage feel.
The dress is only the start when it comes to incorporating elegant textile details into your wedding. An ephemeral bridal headpiece with silk and crystal flowers is a beautiful way to accent that romantic dress, especially with loose ribbons trailing down. Gently layer it over a sweeping floor-length veil for an ethereal bridal look. Bring those textural elements into the reception with large patterned lace runners for farm tables, topped with arrangements of petite, closely clustered flowers in long, tapered vases. To keep mixed patterns from feeling too busy, stick to tone on tone lace and alternate the size of the pattern. Delicate laser cut table numbers or escort cards will add the perfect final touch!
