Venice has always held a certain kind of magic for me, and it is safe to say that Mark and Anna felt that unique Italian romance for their destination elopement! Renowned destination photographer Eric Kelley was the perfect person to capture their intimate wedding day in one of the most unique and enchanting cities in the world. The couple found a private garden amidst the canals and alleyways of Venice, setting the perfect scene to celebrate their sweet elopement!
This stunning destination elopement began with announcements filled with the same old world charm as the city itself – a watercolor illustration of the canals and Rialto Bridge invited guests and well wishers to take in the beauty of the city.
Venice is filled with soft ice cream hues – faded pinks, peaches, yellows, and creams make up the stucco facades of buildings lining the canals. These muted colors made their way into the bride’s bouquet by Philippa Tarrant Floral Design, with butter yellow tulips and pale coral peonies.
Getting ready for the wedding is a breathtaking moment, and bride-t0-be Anna felt that excitement and anticipation putting on the gown from MYWONY Bridal. The long lace sleeves and flowing A-line skirt were a perfect fit for the classical charm of Venice, while the subtle lavender hue fit their wedding day of many colors! Letizia Cordella kept the bride’s makeup soft and natural, with a soft updo to complement the romance of her wedding dress.
Anna took a quiet moment to drink in the beauty and serenity of Venice at one of the city’s many cathedrals.
Mark opted for a classic navy blue suit from Blank Label!
This courtyard garden created a private oasis in the middle of bustling Venice! Blooming wisteria created an arbor over the reception table, adding to the intimate atmosphere of the romantic elopement.
Philippa Tarrant Floral Design deepened the colors of the reception flower arrangements, with peonies, roses, and kumquats adding bright splashes of color to the airy white table decor.
This cake is the epitome of Italian sweetness, with subtle greenery garlands and hints of rich color from fresh kumquats.
No visit to Venice would be complete without a stop in Saint Mark’s square to hear the dueling pianos and sip Bellinis! Anna and Mark captured wedding day memories in the shadow of the Campanile bell tower and under the splendid golden dome of the Doge’s palace before taking a blissful gondola ride for two through the City of Sighs!
