I have a gorgeous contradiction in today’s modern art inspired wedding with classically chic style! Julie and Evan had a jaw-droppingly beautiful day with a fresh orange, white, and green palette that took its cues from their surroundings in Oklahoma City. They set the scene with Julie’s beautiful, embellished Monique Lhuillier gown accented with vintage opal jewelry and a delicate cathedral length veil. The veil was the perfect nod to the graceful Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help where their ceremony took place.
After their vows, the bridal party had a private luncheon at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, taking portraits amid the beautiful works of art. They were perfectly suited to their breathtaking surroundings, with the bridesmaids in delicate white tea-length cocktail dresses, holding bouquets that mirrored Julie’s but were tied with brilliant, jewel toned Hermes scarves for a beautiful pop of color! After portraits – and a private session with our lovely couple on the rooftop, the Oklahoma City skyline spreading out around them – they joined the guests at Julie’s family home for the reception. Jewel toned votives in orange and green cast warm light over the backyard party, with pashminas in equally bright hues on hand to warm guests against the October chill. The cigar and whiskey bar helped, too!
