There’s just no other word for it – I’m straight up honored to be able to share this rustic romance styled shoot from Bit of Ivory Photography! The fabulous Chelsea LaVere is not just the photographer, but also the mastermind behind Orchestrated: Stylized Shoots, an amazing outlet for wedding professionals who love to stretch their creative muscles and collaborate on innovative and incredible styled shoots! Chelsea’s also the editor of Tidewater and Tulle and one of my best bloggy friends!
Hitched was the latest project by this talented team – I’ll let Chelsea herself tell you the story behind this amazing shoot:
Inspired by the masculinity of a ranch and the softness of a wedding, we created a shoot dappled with mustard yellow, bold fonts, and horses in Las Vegas, Nevada and affectionately called it “Hitched.” We have seen so many rustic weddings with burlap, dainty flowers, and mason jars– and we wanted a big departure from that and do something completely different and representative of our venue, Legends Ranch. We gave rich colors, new textures, and the bolder, more masculine side of rustic married perfectly with beauty of a wedding. The creative team brought our vision to life with Moscow Mules, hanging copper lanterns, transferware plates, and, of course, a horse named Yellow.
I think it’s safe to say that not only did they nail the concept, but I am also head over heels in love with Yellow and plan to ride off into the sunset on him. The details in this shoot are just to die for – the horseshoe-shaped wreath of leaves echoed on the stationery and cake, the rich wood detailing paired with topaz glassware, the groom’s suit that’s straight out of a classic Western! What’s not to love? From a creative perspective, the best part about a group collaboration like this is that not only did fantastic artists and designers get the chance to share their vision for an elegant ranch wedding shoot, but a group of photographers attending WPPI all got the chance to tell the story in their own way! Bit of Ivory Photography provided all of the amazing photos for today’s feature, but there are so many other angles to see! Find some of the other attendees’ takes on the shoot here: Orange Blossom Photography, Rebecca Yale Photography, Jessica Haley Photography, Ann & Kam Photography & Cinema, Kristina Cipolla Photography, Random Eyesight Studio, and FORMA Photography!
