I know it’s still summer, still time for long hot days, but autumn is just around the corner and with it comes fall weddings! I wanted today’s fresh green and yellow palette to capture that first hint of fall, when the air just starts to turn crisp and the apples ripen.
Those first days when the year tips from summer into fall are marked by a beautiful mix of the seasons – summer greenery still hangs on the trees even as the days grow shorter, and a hint of woodsmoke creeps into the fresh air. It’s a lovely season for a wedding, and this blend of summer greenery and deeper hints of golden yellow and amber captures that transition time. There are fewer flowers in the garden, so arrangements use leaves and vines to complement the last blooms of the season. Mixed metallics in gold and gray play off the shift from warm weather into cool, while apple tarts and citrus cocktails capture the flavors of the changing season!
