Nhuchia and Denny’s boho Seattle wedding was truly a family affair! Their community – flower artists, cake bakers, DIY enthusiasts – helped them hand made the wedding of their dreams. The Mother of the Bride made the beautiful bouquets, while Villanelle Floral Company created an amazing pampas grass and lunaria chandelier for their rustic industrial Metropolist ceremony and reception. Willow & Ivy Events helped make sure their planning went perfectly and Keoni Reyes gave their photojournalistic style wedding photos the perfect moody fall look!

When the bride’s family owns a flower stall in the iconic Pike’s Place market, you know the bouquets are going to be epic! The Mother of the Bride created her daughter’s bridal bouquet, blending fresh and dried flowers to create a unique texture. She also handmade the bridesmaids’ bouquets to help add a personal detail to her daughter’s wedding!
Nhuchia wanted warm colors for her September blush boho Seattle wedding, asking her bridesmaids to pick individual dresses in shades of pink, taupe, lavender, and blush. The result was sweet and fab for their mismatched bridal party! The feathery dried grasses and lunaria petals in their bouquets gave each bridesmaid a whimsical look!
The bride wanted ethereal romance for her wedding dress – she fell in love with a lacy A-line from Willowby by Watters that paired floaty tulle with lace applique details.
The couple held their First Look in Chophouse Row alley in Seattle’s historic Capitol Hill. Keoni Reyes managed to capture the absolute joy on Denny’s face when he saw his bride for the first time!
The couple chose the rustic industrial factory venue at Metropolist in the historic Ederer Building. Villanelle Floral Company. They wanted big windows with natural lighting and they loved the hardwood floors and high ceilings – the ceremony space felt like the perfect package! Their crew pushed the dining tables to the sides to create and aisle and allow them to flip from the ceremony to reception in the same room.
To get the perfect accent detail for their romantic modern wedding, Nhuchia turned to Villanelle Floral Company. The bride fell in love with a dried grass hanging chandelier the florist had created on her Instagram, and knew that airy and look was the perfect finishing touch to her boho Seattle wedding ceremony! The floral designer created a pampas grass and lunaria chandelier to hang over the aisle, and added airy starbursts of dried flowers to the minimalist ceremony structure in front of soft drapery.
The couple also honored their shared Hmong heritage with a three-day cultural ceremony the previous July.
These two were so excited to be married that they danced their way back down the aisle as husband and wiefe!
After a quick transformation, the room was ready for dinner. A mix of long wooden farm tables and linen-draped rounds created their large (pre-COVID) reception. The bride used wooden folding chairs to complement the rustic industrial venue, and added pops of pink to the white tabletops with blush glasses and linens.
These lettered marble blocks for their table numbers added a gorgeous detail! The signage and copper details were all handmade by family members – including the bride’s father!
When they couldn’t find the perfect shade of pink for the farm table runners and napkins, the bride’s sister decided to DIY this critical reception detail! She hand dyed cheesecloth to make the perfect sheer gauze table runner and napkin to give each place setting a blush detail. The gauze linens played off the pink beaded highball glasses that gave the tables warm color alongside modern gold flatware!
The beautiful dried grass chandelier reined over the reception – keeping a beautiful continuous detail from the ceremony decor!
The bride’s sister is a culinary student, so her gift was a three-layer buttercream wedding cake! After dinner and dessert, the couple entertained their guests with a photo booth by Shutterbus Co. and DJ Insaiyan – everyone got on the dance floor before the night was through!
