Happy first of September! I’m celebrating the fact that autumn is unofficially here with a rich palette for an elegant, natural fall wedding in shades of marsala and sage. Marsala may be Pantone’s Color of 2015, but it’s undeniable that the rich burgundy shade is especially suited for the coming months and fall and winter weddings!
I love the sophistication of burgundy, but the shade also lends itself beautifully to a natural, outdoorsy wedding. Pops of jewel bright color make a gorgeous accent on rustic farm tables, set with greenery runners and modern gold flatware. Dahlias, roses, and ranunculus blooms are in season for the fall months, proving a gorgeous dose of color. Dress bridesmaids in blush, ivory, or mauve to make fall florals stand out, with elegant gold accessories.
Soft sage accents – a laurel wreath around a naked cake, leaves garnishing whiskey cocktails, and trailing garlands down the center of dining tables help to capture the natural elegance of the theme while still blending perfectly with the sophistication of the palette.
