Maddie and Caleb found the perfect balance where Disney Princess meets Star Wars inspiration for their Washington wedding day at Rock Creek Gardens! Their love of a galaxy far, far away brought the former colleagues closer together, and they were engaged at Disneyland, so it only made sense their wedding day should reflect those passions! They turned to Erica at Leigh and Mitchell to help marry their pop culture inspiration with a formal garden wedding, and she raised the bar for a whimsical, beautiful wedding filled with personal touches! Fine art portraits by Huoy Chen Photography captured each Star Wars detail and fairy tale moment, including a visit from the Storm Troopers of the 501st Legion!
Maddie envisioned soft, pastel colors and worked with the floral team at Leigh and Mitchell to dream up her palette of peach, pink, and mint green.
She found her dream Disney princess wedding dress with a hint of sparkle and a blush color at David’s Bridal Signature Collection, and chose floor-length beaded bridesmaid dresses in mint green from Adrianna Papell.
The couple let the natural beauty of Rock Creek Gardens stand out for their ceremony, accenting the beautiful pergola altar with a touch of greenery and a crystal chandelier. The couple were married by the bride’s father and pastor!
Huoy Chen Photography‘s airy fine art style created the most stunning portraits of their wedding day, including Maddie and her bridesmaids!
They turned to Debbie Blagovich of West Coast Entertainment to help make sure everything ran according to schedule and every little detail came together!
Guests were seated for the reception in an airy white tent, accented with drapery and crystal chandeliers. The couple gave their tables a personal touch, with line drawings of their favorite Star Wars characters and tables named after them in elegant calligraphy. Leigh and Mitchell even created a Yoda sign for the ‘cantina’ bar staffed by caterer Mama Stortini’s, encouraging guests to “Get your drink on you must!”
Their chic Star Wars details were paired with garden flowers, greenery runners, and gold place settings from Balancing Balloons. Guests received a packet of ‘the perfect blend’ coffee as the favor since the bride and groom met working in a coffee shop!
Pastel Cakes Bakery created this garden-inspired cake with buttercream vines and flowers.
Maddie and Caleb surprised everyone with a visit from Princess Leia, Han Solo, and the Storm Troopers of the 501st Legion, a fan-based volunteer organization that raises money for local charities through appearances in Star Wars characters! Their donation to the organization benefitted the Seattle Children’s Hospital.
These two rowed happily off to their fairy tale after the most amazing Disney Princess meets Star Wars wedding day!
