This Bay Area wedding used creative flower design and a magical cloud to turn their Kohl Mansion wedding into a fairyland! With the perfect princess bridal style and airy yellow and white flowers to accent dusty blue velvet linens, the couple created a stunning wedding that Allen Tsai Photography and Blooming Wed elevated to fine art!
Creative Flower Design for a Classical Mansion Wedding
Fine art wedding team Allen Tsai Photography and Blooming Wed created flatlay magic with the bride’s accessories and paper goods for the wedding day, with yellow poppies and peach garden roses from Amanda Vidmar Design making the dusty blue velvet linens and watercolor details pop in these stunning shots! Bay Area stationery designer The Aerialist Press created their elegant script invitations as well as the acrylic and white ink commemorative invitation that added a chic detail!
Pengfei and Ruoshu lived on opposite coasts when they first met in New York City. They happened to make plans with a mutual friend on the same night, when San Francisco-Based Pengfei was in town to run the New York Marathon. Although their first meeting was casual and relaxed, and neither was looking for a long distance relationship at the moment, Pengfei took notice of Ruoshu and was impressed by her karaoke skills! After arranging another group meeting (to give them another chance to talk), the pair hit it off and a bicoastal relationship and move to San Francisco soon followed!
The bridesmaids wore long blue silk dresses to add a pop of romantic color, and Ruoshu channeled a princess in her off the shoulder beaded wedding dress and crystal headpiece!
The couple chose summery blue, champagne yellow, and crisp white for their wedding colors to emphasize the outdoor romance of their venue. They chose the elegant Kohl Mansion just south of San Francisco, which combined a stunning historic building with a charming rose garden. They held the ceremony outdoors, with the beautiful mansion as their backdrop, which florist Amanda Vidmar Design complemented with a deconstructed flower arch.
The couple gave their ceremony a personal twist with adding two parts – they read their vows to begin, and then each sang a song to the other! They chose songs with lyrics that represented their feelings, serenading each other and their guests with ‘How Long Will I Love You’ and ‘Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You’.
The couple created a champagne flute seating chart that served multiple purposes – guests enjoyed fine bubbly for Cocktail Hour, and each flute had a custom bookmark with their name, table number, and a gold wax seal! The beautiful reception detail not only helped guests find their seat but served as a memorable and thoughtful favor they could take home!
The Great Hall of the private estate venue created a luxurious setting for their wedding reception, with high ceilings and elegant wood paneled walls, with tall windows to let in natural light! The couple loved the regal ambiance of the reception space, but wanted to add a magical detail that their guests would never forget!
They used a ‘cloud’ of dry ice and creative flower design to transform the beautiful hall into an enchanted garden – not to mention making the most enchanting photos of their wedding day!
Blue velvet tablecloths from La Tavola Fine Linen and delicate white place settings from Theoni Collection gave their tables a luxurious finish, which their florist decorated with beautiful arrangements of summer greenery, poppies, ranunculus, and roses. The unstructured garden arrangements added a whimsical detail to the elegant table decor, and summer fruit gave the centerpieces a sweet touch!
The couple wanted to feature desserts from their favorite bakery, Whole Cakes San Francisco for their reception! They loved the flavors of their strawberry vanilla and earl grey cake with peach filling, and chose to keep the cakes simple with a single tier for each and smooth white buttercream. Their planner Blooming Wed had the idea to display the simple cakes on creative cake stands and add a garden flower backdrop to the dessert table to create a stunning display !
The couple chose signature cocktails to fit their blue and champagne color scheme, and edible petal garnishes added to the creative flower design elements of their wedding! The bride chose a romantic champagne dress to change into for the first dance and reception that moved beautifully in the breeze outdoors!
