Low key weddings and restaurant receptions are fast becoming the norm these days, and this glamorous London pub wedding shoot is the perfect styling guide for transforming a casual wedding venue into something cozy and romantic! Camilla J Hards Photography and London event planner One Oake were inspired by the private rooms at Bloomsbury pub, The Lady Ottoline, to create a small wedding reception that managed to both dazzle and be budget-friendly! Minimalist decor, eco-friendly flowers and foliage by Amanda Jane Flowers, and a dazzling wedding dress prove just how much you can do to personalize a restaurant wedding!
In keeping with the focus on natural and free-flowing floral details, Chloe Ainsley Creative used a floating petal motif for the invitations! The clean and simple suite used neutral tones in beige and peach to create a layered effect with beautiful calligraphy lettering and minimalist typography.
Styling Guide for a Glamorous London Pub Wedding
This stunning bridal look proves that the wedding photos are really all about the dress! This ethereal Pure by Inbal Dror from Morgan Davies Bridal London made for the most gorgeous focal point in the stunning portraits, thanks to the delicately beaded bodice and flowing A-line skirt. The beautiful details on the dress were enhanced by the ethereal tulle bows tied at each shoulder and the jeweled straps running down the stunning open back!
To complement the romantic vintage style of the bride’s dress, hair stylist Chloe GH Bridal and Make up by Emma McGreevy leaned in to glamour for the bride’s look! She looked utterly romantic in pinned back loose curls and a flattering smokey eye and red lip!
The Lady Ottoline made the perfect location for a London pub wedding, with a sage green and dark wood interior that One Oake transformed into a cozy and moody reception area! The beautiful front door was framed to perfection by Amanda Jane Flowers‘ foam-free foliage archway, a stunning and eco-friendly statement piece that is the perfect way to welcome guests after a city hall or Justice of the Peace ceremony.
The groom looked sharp in a charcoal gray suit and plum purple tie sourced from ASOS, adding a stylish touch to the whimsical flowers and greenery decor!
The stunning flower archway at the pub’s entrance created a beautiful photo backdrop for portraits by Camilla J Hards Photography! The team envisioned adding a creative focal point to a pub wedding or restaurant reception to offer couples holding a low key or intimate wedding ceremony a beautiful place to capture their first moments as newlyweds and create amazing portraits!
Styling a Beautiful Pub Reception
Indoors, the upstairs private rooms were set for a cozy and intimate restaurant wedding reception. The dark wood tables and smoky green walls created a beautifully moody atmosphere, which London wedding planner One Oake turned romantic and inviting with the use of candles throughout! The pub’s place settings were beautifully elevated by adding taper candles and simple bud vases with ruffled white sweet peas! The minimalist centerpieces were chosen to complement the venue’s aesthetic and keep the reception style beautiful and budget-friendly!
Well-chosen stationery details by Chloe Ainsley Creative added a personal touch to the minimalist reception decor! Botanical illustrations served as table numbers for the intimate reception of close family and friends, while the bar menu beautifully detailed all the drinks on tap for a London pub wedding reception! Plenty of cider and beer offerings were paired with Signature Cocktails for the couple!
Sugared Saffron created a floating petal motif in shades of peach for the minimalist white wedding cake. The beautiful neutral tones spoke to the organic details of the wedding reception, chosen to complement the restaurant dining room and make the reception feel cohesive and beautifully styled! A silk ribbon around top fondant tier added even more neutral color and texture to the sugar petal accents!
Glamorous Bridal Style for a Budget-Friendly Restaurant Wedding
Camilla J Hards Photography used the ambient light in the pub’s reception rooms to create these breathtaking bridal portraits. The subtle blush tulle skirt and beaded details of the bride’s dress became dazzling in the dramatic lighting!
How picture perfect is this back! The beaded straps added the most gorgeous sparkle to the open back wedding dress!
