Mia and Jake’s cozy lodge wedding is the perfect escape to crisp weather, jewel toned autumn colors, and an enchanted woodland setting! The couple embraced the colors of New England in the fall for their ‘romantic boho’ getaway to Migis Lodge, a lakeside retreat where they spent their summers. Their wedding day is a colorful dream thanks to Carolina Marles Photography and Field Floral!
Jake proposed to Mia with this spectacular Art Deco inspired engagement ring with a round diamond on a trip to London! He swept his bride-to-be off to Italy on a surprise trip to celebrate their engagement.
Mia described her wedding day style as ‘boho romantic’. After lots of false starts, she came across her dream dress by Watters one month before the wedding! The tulle and lace gown photographed beautifully thanks to the soft gray color and absolutely gorgeous fit! She paired it with a simple cathedral length veil that flowed with the tulle skirt.
Field Floral of Portland, ME, recreated the gorgeous colors of New England in the fall for the wedding flowers! Thistle and silver dollar eucalyptus added soft greenery to the bouquets of burgundy and blush dahlias and chrysanthemums. The bold colors of the flowers looked stunning against the mismatched bridesmaid dresses- Mia gave her bridal party leave to pick the dress of their choice in a neutral color, creating a gorgeous mix of blush, taupe, lavender, and mauve that complemented the hints of pastel in her dress!
The setting at Migis Lodge on Sebago Lake held a lot of meaning for Mia and Jake – grew up coming to the lake every summer since he was a child, and the tradition was one he shared with Mia once they started dating. They held their First Look in the woods outside the lodge before the ceremony in front of the lake.
The couple picked Carolina Marles Photography to capture their wedding day, including these enchanting woodland portraits that look straight out of a fairy tale!
Holding their ceremony close to sunset allowed Carolina Marles Photography to capture the heavenly light in all of these pictures!
Hair Stylist Brianna Hardy and Makeup Artist Kayla Carter worked with Mis to make all of her bridal beauty dreams come true with a romantic updo topped with a crystal headpiece and softly glowing makeup.
The ceremony took place overlooking the lake just as the sun began to set. Their wedding arbor made of birch trees echoed the pine trees framing the lake view behind them as the couple exchanged vows.
The couple held their reception in the main lodge, giving the party a cozy feeling against the October chill. Guests were seated at tables named after local wildlife. The long tables were kept elegantly simple, with white linens and long greenery garlands – modern gold candleholders added to the wintery feel.
These Love bottle openers doubled as a sweet favor and a charming addition to each place setting!
Instead of a cake, the couple treated guests to their favorite local pies and this donut wall built by the Groom’s father!
