Celebrating a new season by sending off summer in grand style – this pastel nautical wedding shoot at Inn By the Sea is filled to the brim with dreamy New England light, elegant coastal decor and striped details, and the most stunning beach ceremony in Maine! Katherine Brackman Photography and Back Bay Bride knew that 2021 couples are asking the new COVID-era question – ‘how to make a small wedding feel like a big deal?’ and they answered in the most stunning way! Every detail was chosen to elevate even the most micro of weddings, creating a cheerful and chic design that will create memories for a lifetime!
Pastel Nautical Wedding in Massachusetts
Dusty blue, nautical prints, and coastal illustrations came together in Gus & Ruby Letterpress‘s invitation design for this end of summer coastal New England wedding! The pastel nautical theme was represented in stunning beachy details like the coral sea-life patterned coasters and the woven rattan placemats to enhance the invitation flatlay and add organic texture to the soft summer flowers in blush, blue, and white.
Back Bay Bride and The Wild Dahlia wanted the ceremony to feel special and impactful, even if there would only be five guests to witness it. Knowing that the photos and the memories would last for a lifetime, they envisioned a stunning deconstructed floral arbor ceremony backdrop on the lawn of Inn By the Sea in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The open floral pillars added a romantic frame to the ocean and rocky coastline in the distance, allowing the natural beauty of the coastal New England resort to feel like part of the ceremony décor itself! The stunning blue sky and end of summer air was the most beautiful way to celebrate an intimate micro-wedding in gorgeous style!
Ready for some fresh nautical wedding ideas? You can’t have a coastal New England wedding without embracing the style at least a little bit! Oyster shell candles, a hanging driftwood chandelier with vines and flowers, and cabana striped tablecloths in dusty blue and white added to the pastel nautical theme for the cozy reception on the porch of the inn.
Preppy blue and white striped linens, modern gold flatware, and woven rattan placemats added to the coastal farmhouse style of the reception table decor! Minimalist white china candleholders with hand-dipped taper candles added the perfect detail to accent the whimsical pastel flower arrangements by The Wild Dahlia – love-in-a-mist and delphinium added blue flowers to the centerpieces, while peach ranunculus, blush and taupe roses, and white peonies added dreamy dreamy color!
Bear Brook Bakery used a textured fondant to add beautiful detail to this white wedding cake! The two-tier dessert was perfect for an intimate wedding while still making a lovely statement – the fresh flowers in peach, white, and pink with touches of blue gave it a lovely pop of color on the rich dusty blue cake table linen.
This bouquet is nothing short of a ‘wow’ moment! No matter how small your guest count might be, Andrea’s Bridal Maine knew that the couples’ portraits can still be larger than life! A stunning lace A-line Lillian West wedding dress felt like the perfect bridal moment for a cozy coastal elopement – the textural lace over a sheer bodice played off the gorgeous garden florals in the bride’s romantic summer bouquet!
The boutique also styled the groom – his summer blue suit was the perfect choice for a coastal New England wedding and tied into the pastel nautical details with preppy style!
