Classic Charleston architecture, coastal decor, and vintage Southern bridal style blend together to tell the story of a bygone age in this dreamy wedding inspiration shoot. Jeannemarie Photography and Designs by Hemingway transported their team back in time thanks to the historic beauty of The Gadsden House, a historic property turned wedding venue. The elegance and romance of Charleston’s Ansonborough neighborhood provided the perfect backdrop for the neutral fall tones and preserved flowers that give this shoot the ephemeral beauty of the changing seasons.

The handmade paper invitations echoed the weathered and historic tones found throughout the venue, mirroring the classic Charleston architecture that drew the eye and inspired the neutral fall color palette. Gold roses, preserved flowers, and bleached ferns provided stunning texture to this lovely flatlay!
A vintage lace getting ready robe and stunning Claire Pettibone wedding dress conjured the image of a classic bride, thanks to a high neck and long lace sleeves. Hair stylist Brianna B Adams made sure to show off the romantic lace neckline with a romantic bridal updo, crowned with a laurel leaf headpiece by Noon on the Moon.
The most important element of this Old World inspired shoot? Finding the perfect venue with classic Charleston architecture to create the backdrop. Floor to ceiling windows, beautiful chandeliers, and original accents were essential to bringing this vintage Southern wedding vision to life! The Gadsden House in the historic Ansonborough neighborhood fit the bill perfectly, with natural light and stunning architecture that provided an elegant backdrop for this Southern bridal shoot.
Designs by Hemingway drew inspiration from the coastal charm of Charleston, the original architecture of the historic venue, and the dreamy fall colors of the shoot to create this stunning bridal bouquet. Cappuccino roses added warmth to the dried lunaria, bleached ferns, and mini silver daisies that added beachy texture to the flowers. A taupe Silk and Willow perfectly complemented the rich neutral colors!
The team wove the classic Charleston architecture of the venue into the design, transforming the vintage stair railing with a dried grass and preserved flower garland. The restored fireplace in the grand parlor was accented with pampas grass and rose mantel decor to create a lovely reception backdrop.
Gold, ivory, and taupe tones blended together for the reception styling, with a whitewashed farm table and antique iron and burlap bench from Ooh! Events. The vintage furniture and weathered details added to the Old World elegance of the historic wedding venue, accented by a silk table runner and seafoam green and gray place settings.
A bleached fern cake topper added feathery coastal perfection to the simple white buttercream wedding cake! Touches of edible gold leaf on the deckled edges of the tiers and an antiqued gold cake stand added elegance to the simplicity of the cake design.
