Bridal Market is here again, and it’s time to check out some more gorgeous wedding dress trends from the latest collections! Countless gorgeous gowns walked down the runways this past weekend, from variations on a classic ball gown to a lacy bridal romper! With so many lovely dresses, jumpsuits, separates, and pants to choose from, it made it nearly impossible to pick a few to feature, but I wanted to share my favorite trends showcased across the runways – and hopefully down the aisle!
The New Modern
There are so many amazing, fresh takes on modern wedding dresses that are coming from the runways to the aisle these days – from fabulous architectural details to crisp, simple silhouettes – and this latest crop was no exception. If I shared every gorgeous modern gown that came out of Bridal Market 2015, we’d be here all day. Instead I’ve rounded up a selection of the most unique and dazzling gowns to walk this weekend. Naeem Khan went for a simple A-line sheath punched up with shimmering threads of silver, Alyne sent out one of the most gorgeous tulip silhouettes I’ve ever seen, and Carolina Herrera took a glam, equestrian approach to a modern-day Ballgown.
I focused on these gowns in particular because the designers managed to blend what we think of as a modern wedding dress – structured, architectural, simple – with the utter romance that ever bride should have the chance to experience. Any of these gowns will look right at home in a ballroom, but will also shine in a less expected venue like an art gallery or an industrial space. The glory of these gowns, especially the volume and fresh simplicity of the Reem Acra and the Marchesa, is how beautifully they lend themselves to statement jewelry. Oversized necklaces in chunky chains, layered bracelets, or glam, costume earrings can add just the right amount of glitter to an otherwise clean bridal look.

A Modified A-Line
There will always be brides who have dreamed of a ballgown for their wedding day, but the true trend these days leans towards a more refined silhouette. My personal favorite has to be a modified A-Line gown with a fitted bodice and sleek, flowing skirt with just the right amount of volume. One of the most sought after gowns I’ve ever featured on the blog enchanted my readers with the amazing drape of the skirt by Maggie Sottero, and it’s easy to see why it became so loved!
Romona Keveza gorgeously executes her interpretation in a lovely, sparkling lace, while many designers like Watters pair a glittering bodice treatment with a gorgeously draped skirt in chiffon. The skirt’s movement translates beautifully to photographs, without the weight or overbearing volume of a traditional ball gown. A light, airy gown makes a gorgeous complement to a rustic, outdoors venue without sacrificing anything when it comes to romance!

A Slinky Dress
Unlike most little girls who dream of the day they get to wear an enormous ball gown for their wedding, I’ve always yearned for a dress with some slink. Long before the rise of the Great Gatsby wedding (thanks, Leo), I dreamed about a scoop-necked 1920’s inspired silhouette in gleaming silk. That little girl in me was delighted to see so many sleek, clinging gowns walk down the runway! From the beaded sheath by Theia, the high-gloss sheen with cap sleeves by Sottero and Midgley, and the elegantly classic scoop-neck from Austin Scarlett, there are so many stunning designs to choose from!
These bombshell, feminine chic designs would like right at home in an old-world villa or winery setting, paired with a fist-sized glittering gem on a long chain. Play with an updated version of 20’s pin curls or 40’s waves to reference the style without looking too costumey, or let beachy waves soften the high-glam factor.
