Blue and Yellow San Diego Wedding where Spanish tiles meet Mediterranean Style
This dynamic event team really knows how to set the scene for a wedding shoot! Every detail, from the smallest paper design to the overall setting, reflected the vision of Mediterranean style and vibrant color! At the core of this design concept was the recent Pantone Color of the Year – Illuminating. This fresh and energizing color was chosen for it’s bright and zesty appeal, making it a perfect choice to complement the blue Spanish tiles and Mediterannean style of The Crosby Club in San Diego. The uplifting color was a signature across the event details, starting with watercolor lemon prints in the wedding invitations by Four Things Paper to sprigs of yellow mimosa in the bride’s bouquet!
This flirty Ines di Santo wedding dress from Carlsbad boutique, Archive Bridal, was the perfect choice for a romantic yet contemporary bride! The full tulle skirt of the Glow gown features delicate falling petals and a side slit for an airy yet sexy look. The corseted lace bodice was a gorgeous fit, with silk shoulder bow ties for a perfect finishing detail! The low formal ponytail hairstyle by Kylee Hudson Bridal gave this bridal look a gorgeous finish!
The Mediterranean courtyard was a gorgeous space for the wedding ceremony, with a fountain of blue, white, and yellow Spanish tiles to serve as the backdrop. New Creation Floral dressed the space with garlands of greenery and yellow mimosa to climb the wall beside the fountain, tying it into the decor, and lined the aisle with low arrangements of greenery with white and yellow flowers for an organic look. The white woven chairs were a gorgeous California Casual addition to the ceremony design!
Citrus details played a huge part in the fresh feeling of the design, including these fresh lemons to help show off the escort cards with white ink lettering on blonde wood.
The outdoor reception drew inspiration from Southern California interior design trends, combining a two-tone natural wood table from New and Nostalgic with woven chargers, vibrant yellow and white flowers, and rattan hanging lanterns over the intimate dining area.
Borrow and Bash set the table with Mid-Century modern decor to add that Southern California charm, with marigold yellow linen napkins and minimalist candleholders to play off the exuberant centerpieces!
The rattan hanging lanterns and candles added a romantic glow to this outdoor wedding reception as the sun started to set.
Guests could lounge in this fabulous outdoor seating area and sip on citrus cocktails with slices of fresh lemon!
A Spanish tile accent alcove in the central courtyard created an eye-catching backdrop for Laura Marie Cakes‘ gorgeous contemporary wedding cake! The two elongated cake tiers were adorned with lemon yellow candy shapes to add a geometric touch and pop of strong color to the playful dessert. Cake wasn’t the only sweet treat – a Swoonful cotton candy cart served clouds of sugar in flavors like lemon rosé and peach bellini!
This magic hour wedding photo session with XO and Fetti managed to capture the enchanting golden light of Southern California in the summer – and a sunset session is the perfect chance for newlyweds to steal a few minutes together!
