A Gryffindor Red and Gold Rustic Harry Potter Inspiration Board

Hi Wedding Lady! My cousin (she doesn’t have a Tumblr) needs some of your amazing ideas for a rustic/Harry Potter wedding. She’s thinking of having the wedding at a vineyard in CA, in the fall. Thanks so much!

There is some truly spectacular Harry Potter inspiration out there, which simultaneously made it harder and easier to come up with an original design. I decided to use the Gryffindor red and gold for the wedding colors, along with rich dark wood to set the moody, magical tone of the books. A vineyard in the fall is the perfect setting for dark farm tables set with crimson runners, glowing candles, and bright autumn flowers. Hanging candles are a must for an enchanting touch straight from Hogwarts.

Rustic touches are a natural pairing with the Harry Potter theme – the darling owl toppers look right at home on this woodland cake. A scrolling parchment inscribed with well wishes in quill (or a quill-inspired pen) and covered with guests’ Polaroid’s makes for a fantastic Daily Prophetesque guest book.
