To create a fresh new take on a fairy tale wedding, Corey Johnson Studios and McKee Events set out to create inspiration for a tale as old as time! Their design for a Beauty and the Beast-inspired wedding managed to combine beloved elements of the story with styling that modern brides will love for years to come! The stunning venue at Castle Ladyhawke in the Blue Ridge Mountains swept this couple away into an enchanted moment, with French Country details dressing up the Old World estate. Your inner Disney princess will love this look as much as classic brides will find details to adore!
Tale as Old as Time inspiration for a Beauty and the Beast Wedding
This beautiful flatlay details showcased of the hand-lettered pieces designed for the shoot, with lyrics from Tale as Old as Time to bring in the Beauty and the Beast wedding theme in a timeless way!
If you had to pick a modern wedding dress for a Disney princess, this would be the one! The off-the-shoulder straps and beaded bodice add the perfect amount of sparkle, while the full skirt manages to evoke the classic Belle ballgown in a subtle and classically bridal look.
McKee Events and Petal and Fern used the beautiful stone fireplace as a focal point for the indoor ceremony. The antique beam mantel was dressed with silky drapery and covered with vines and glowing candles to create a warm and inviting ceremony backdrop on a rainy spring day.
How spectacular is that view! The Blue Ridge mountains in the background were draped in mist thanks to an unexpected rainstorm. While the weather may have been unwelcome, the misty gray light added a cozy romance to the couple’s intimate portraits on the grounds of the castle.
Although the architecture at Castle Ladyhawke was designed and built in the techniques of a Scottish border castle, the Great Hall managed to evoke the Provincial charm of a castle hidden in the French woods. The dramatic wooden beams and romantic stained glass windows gave it a beautifully regal feeling for this intimate wedding dinner for two! Vintage Indigo Event Rentals dressed the Sweetheart Table with vintage gold candlesticks, pink Depression glassware, and elegant French-inspired gold-edged china. Gilded pears and centerpieces of white flowers and greenery added to the Old World romance of the beautiful reception design!
French Country details were a beautiful way to add elements from the original fairy tale to this shoot! A charming rose-patterned teapot and cup made a special appearance on the antique white pedestal table that displayed Leigh Bakery‘s gorgeous wedding cake!
What would a Beauty and the Beast wedding be without some of the sweetest fairy tale details! From the beautiful rose under a glass dome to bridal portraits in the estate’s beautiful library. Belle would approve of the photos with soaring walls covered in row after row of books! Vintage gold details – from a candelabra and mantel clock – also evoked some of the Disney favorites in a sophisticated way, but it was the antique mirror that Nicole Essenberg accented with calligraphy ‘Be our Guest’ that was the most obvious nod to the playful inspiration!
