Colorful Hacienda Style for a Last Minute Mini Wedding

Planning a 2020 wedding has been incredibly difficult but this sweet couple managed to spin their cancelled venue into an incredible last minute wedding with just thirty guests! Thanks to the incredible team of Sarahi Hadden Photography and Le Bloomerie, their original wedding date went ahead with a tiny guest list, colorful hacienda style, and stunning film wedding photos filled with vibrant summer sunshine and a lot of love!

With last minute county restrictions cancelling their ‘big wedding’ with less than two weeks to go, Jennyfer and Sean were faced with the difficult decision a lot of 2020 couples have faced – to postpone or try to rework everything at the last minute.

They were able to pivot from their original plan to a safely quarantined micro wedding thanks to a private estate in the Bay Area and a lot of hard work!

The couple had originally planned on a summer outdoor wedding with dusty blue touches and the bride’s utterly gorgeous vintage-inspired gown! The off-the-shoulder Van der Velde dress by designer Matthew Christopher channeled Old Hollywood meets boho bride! She was able to spend her big day wearing the dress of her dreams, with the perfect setting at their new venue.

With just weeks to put together new plans for their wedding, the couple weren’t sure they would be able to pull off wedding flowers at the last minute. Superhero floral artist Le Bloomerie came through with the most stunning blooms inspired by the colorful Hacienda setting, Spanish tile, and terra cotta details of their new venue.

The couple’s wedding day attire was a huge priority and had luckily come in before COVID restrictions hit! The bride’s dreamy dress and vibrant summer bouquet were a lovely match for her groom’s navy suit and dusty blue tie.

The couple held their wedding entirely outdoors, with a ceremony on the lawn surrounded by the Tuscan-inspired landscaping and Bay Area sunlight.

With ample gardens for photos, Sarahi Hadden Photography stole them for a long couple’s session. Her film photos are an exquisite way to capture the summer sunshine through the colorful hacienda grounds!

The couple turned to local Italian restaurant Maggiano’s for last minute socially-distanced catering. Their guests dined outdoors at round garden tables with white linens and cane back chairs. Pale blue napkins and summer flower arrangements of orange, coral, and pink completed their colorful hacienda reception style!

The bride hand painted the table numbers the night before their wedding to add a personalized DIY touch to the colorful and elegant al fresco reception!

With no time to find a new cake vendor at the last minute, the couple served an assortment of mini desserts, including chocolate truffle cake balls, mini cheesecake, and small apple pastries.

The couple didn’t let such major changes to their wedding with two weeks to go put a dark cloud over their wedding day. Their advice to couples in a similar situation?

Be patient, and focus on what is important. Due to Covid plans can and will change suddenly. Focus on your love for each other, and understand that there is always a way to get things accomplished as long as you work together. In our case, we wanted to keep our wedding date no matter what. It was already a very special date in our minds and heart. We took the challenges and worked as a team to accomplish our wedding goals.
