In a city full of unique places to get married, the rustic cathedral at Livaudais Hall manages to stand out in New Orleans! Mo Davis Photography and Michelle Norwood Events transformed the gallery of this restored church into a blooming orchard! The soaring wood paneled ceilings in the historic sanctuary allowed them to play with unique ladder backdrops for Leaf and Petal Nola‘s floral installations, playing with a spring color scheme of yellow, lavender, and peach to create a romantic and whimsical wedding!
A Rustic Cathedral Wedding Ceremony
With intimate weddings and cozy ceremonies becoming the norm, Lovegood Weddings and Events embraced that effect with eclectic ceremony seating! Both sides of the aisle were lined with velvet settees, antique sofas, cane back chairs, and whimsical poufs to create a welcoming ceremony seating arrangement!
With the soaring sanctuary of the rustic cathedral serving as a backdrop for the shoot, bridal boutique Ivory and White knew that the wedding dress had to be just as grand as the venue! The fitted off the shoulder dress by Lela Rose cut a timeless bridal silhouette but the back added a dramatic touch! The sheer tulle train doubled as a cape for a stunning look both ways up the aisle!
Faces of Virtue LLC Makeup Studio gave the bride the most romantic braided crown hairstyle with loose waves to frame her face. The relaxed style was a beautiful way to tie in the rustic style of the cathedral and the garden flowers!
The creative use of ladders as the ceremony flower backdrop was a nod to the bride’s family orchard! Rustic ladders, blooming flowers, and a beautiful combination of peach, lavender, and yellow came together to create a relaxed rustic atmosphere inside the soaring sanctuary at Livaudais Hall!
Using the same ceremony and reception venue? Lovegood Weddings and Events used a creative trick to transform the space between events! The plush velvet sofas and vintage settees that formed the ceremony aisle served double duty as the seating for an intimate farm table reception.
How fun are these colorful place settings! Vibrant yellow china and pink linen napkins created a cheerful design at each seat. The square centerpieces down the middle of the long table were overflowing with purple and peach flowers to add even more pastel color. Tall taper candles and pink depression glasses added varied height to mix up the tablescape and low centerpieces.
This vintage wooden cart is the perfect mimosa bar for a rustic cathedral wedding! Adding a flowered swag garland created a perfect backdrop to the selection of fresh juices and fruit garnishes to mix with champagne!
Now, time for cake! This simple wedding cake was purchased from Whole Foods and topped with fresh fruit and flowers to personalize a store-bought dessert! The amazing display added even more creativity and color.
Time to relax! This vintage lounge is absolutely pillow goals, thanks to cheerful pink tasseled cushions and vibrant yellow prints!
