Run away to the misty moors for a Byronic romance brought to life in this moody Wuthering Heights-inspired shoot! It’s all love instead of longing in this dramatic elopement inspiration from Sophia Veres Photography and Apple and Bramble Events. This team braved a February morning to capture the magic of sunrise over Cheddar Gorge in Somerset, retreating to the gardens of Midelney Manor for an intimate rustic wedding reception that captures the wild beauty of the Bronte romance and the rugged setting!
The stationery was created to appear aged and hand written to mimic the love letters between Heathcliff and Cathy. To achieve the antique look of the stationery, Apple and Bramble Events used textured handmade papers and a traditional script style font.
Fleur Provocateur captured the wild beauty of the moors in the gorgeous bouquet with a multitude of spring flowers, using moody dark hellebores, anemones, magnolia branches, broom, and deep burgundy roses. The bouquet was tied with wine red and sky blue silk ribbons from Lancaster and Cornish to billow in the wind.
Amazing photos by Sophia Veres Photography captured the rugged landscape of Cheddar Gorge in Somerset along with the lovers. The misty moors created a dramatic backdrop, reminiscent of the atmospheric setting of the classic novel for that true Wuthering Heights feel!
Marnie’s Vintage styled the couple in antique cloaks and coats that helped the couple battle the February morning chill.
The potting shed at Midelney Manor offered the perfect venue for this moody and intimate wedding! The 18th century stonework and vintage decor added to the feeling of having traveled back in time to witness this classic love story.
To bring the wild beauty of the moors inside, the team created a large branch installation over the rustic farm table for the eloping lovers.
The table decor echoed the earth tones of the landscape, with gray and burgundy touches accenting organic textures from moss, pewter tableware and wooden candlesticks.
The Silver Cake used textured buttercream on the mini one-tier cake to give it a granite appearance inspired by the cliffs in Cheddar Gorge. The rough buttercream edge was brushed with gold to give it a beautifully unfinished finishing touch, and the cake stand was adorned in heather and sea moss for an earthy accent.
