Celebrate Local with this Unique Brooklyn Wedding Filled with Heirloom Details

Morgan and Martin’s unique city wedding was as much about their love of Brooklyn as their love for each other! The couple met in Arizona and connected over college football and tattoos before relocating to New York together. When it came time to plan their intimate wedding day, they chose a venue in the heart of the city and vendors that celebrated the small businesses in their neighborhood! Their wedding photos by Common Dove Photography showcase a celebration of a gorgeous couple and some of the most amazing local talent in the sweetest way!

Their invitations gave guests a peek at their fresh and modern city style wedding – the invites combined geometric gold elements and hand painted gold leaves with an adorably illustrated map of the city that spotlighted their wedding venue in Williamsburg!

How stunning is Morgan’s Rue de Seine wedding dress – she wanted a boho chic look and could not have found a more perfect designer! She styled it with hammered gold earrings and studded white booties to accent the bohemian vibes and paired it with a turquoise squash blossom necklace that was an heirloom from Martin’s grandmother.

An intricate braided updo by Little Axe Salon showcased the gorgeous lace back of Morgan’s wedding dress!

A major priority for their wedding was working with local vendors – Morgan and Martin selected small businesses with a creative vision to bring their big day to life. They worked with Petals and Roots for their flowers, opting for lots of greenery to fit in with their lush ceremony venue, and adding velvety succulents, blushing bride protea, roses, astilbe, and viburnum berries for a little hint of dark blue!

Martin went with a classic look wearing a black 3-piece suit and a succulent boutonnière. He also wore his late grandfather’s Native American cufflinks

Morgan’s bridesmaids picked blush dresses in individual silhouettes for a stylish mismatched bridal party!

The venue, MyMoon restaurant in Brooklyn, checked every box for Morgan and Martin – giving them a lush setting for their ceremony and reception. The open air courtyard mixed organic greenery with an industrial edge to create a unique and eye catching space for their vows!

We had always envisioned an intimate, relaxed wedding that would be unlike any event our family or friends had ever been to. We wanted to hold our ceremony amidst greenery (who would have thought we’d find it in the middle of Brooklyn!). We wanted an al fresco cocktail hour with a live jazz band, and a warm and inviting reception space. Lush greenery, warm candlelight, gold terrariums, and succulents were all elements we wanted to highlight. We looked all the way from the Hudson Valley to the Hamptons, ultimately landing in a restaurant less than a mile from our first NYC apartment.

Morgan highlighted her tattoo on her wedding day with an updo – after all, it had caught Martin’s eye when they first met and provided him with the perfect opening line! Her lace Rue de Seine wedding dress perfectly framed her ink with a halter neckline and keyhole back.

Their commitment to local businesses shown through with their picks for venue, photography, flowers, cake, and music. The setting and the event professionals that contributed to the magic of their wedding day spoke to the neighborhood they first lived in together in NYC!

The Grand Hall at MyMoon gave their reception a little industrial flavor, with worn wood floors and the original brick walls on full display. They added organic elements from the while silk table runners to the hand painted greenery on their table numbers and seating chart.

Centerpieces in gold terrariums accented the long farm tables, with simple arrangements of succulents, blush flowers, and greenery!

Aloria Cakes created their beautifully simple wedding cake, with a nearly naked finish and succulent topper.
