Carley and Dan’s rustic bohemian wedding took place at Zajac Ranch, a summer camp turned venue in the off season, which provided the perfect place for their down to earth, woodsy wedding! Guests stayed overnight in the camp’s lodges after dancing the night away, and the lakeside location could not have been more picturesque. This lovely couple celebrated surrounded by fiery autumn foliage and a stunning view of the mountains. Not even a last minute storm could dampen the spirit of this incredible wedding – the staff at the ranch bent over backwards to relocate the ceremony, help control flooding, and find covered areas to take portraits of the enormous bridal party. Luckily the skies cleared long enough for this adventurous couple to take some of the most exquisite portraits I’ve ever seen!
This gorgeous DIY wedding was completely a family affair – friends and family of the couple worked on the beautiful homespun decor, and the Groom’s sister, Jaclyn, designed their lovely cake. Carley wore her grandmother’s heirloom jewelry for the wedding, along with her Maggie Sottero dress. The flowing skirt and delicately beaded sweetheart bodice made this gown a favorite with HWL readers! To pair the quiet elegance of the gown with the untamed beauty of their location, Carley styled it with a delicate jeweled headband over loosely flowing waves for a chic bohemian bridal look. Her bridesmaids got in on the look with mismatched taupe bridesmaids dresses and loose clutches of dried lavender from Westgate Flower Garden.
