There’s such a lovely mix of styles that went into today’s gorgeous candlelight winter wedding shoot! The amazingly talented Megan Robinson Photography and Leslie Dawn Events teamed up to create this styled wedding that manages to incorporate lush botanicals, winter greenery, elegant woodland details, and modern wedding day styling!
To create a welcoming, wintery atmosphere, they started with the venue. The immense stone fireplace at This is the Place Heritage Park became the centerpiece of the shoot, adorned with glowing pillar candles and white tapers adorning clear glass bottles. The clean but natural ambiance of the venue lent itself beautifully to the winter woods theme, elaborately illustrated by Soil and Stem‘s use of fresh greenery, winter berries, and star-like white flowers.
A rustic King’s Table, decorated with a garland runner of delicate ferns and glowing candles, was set with elegant place settings of white china and etched glass. Delicate woodland touches – abstract feather print napkins and leaves sprinkled with gold dust, brought in the natural elements of the shoot. The wedding cake was kept minimal – a simple three tiered buttercream confection with white flowers and lush, feather ferns. A hanging backdrop of marshmallows added a whimsical snowfall effect!
The bride and groom were the epitome of the shoot’s natural meets modern style. For the bride, they paired a chic high bun with smokey eyes and a berry lip. The cap sleeves and illusion netting on her wedding dress from Gateway Bridal were adorned with beaded leaves and flowers, echoing the delicate greenery and small blooms in her bridal bouquet. The groom’s black check gingham shirt and bow tie were right on trend, while his gray tweed jacket added a hint of natural texture to his ensemble.
