Vintage Details inspired a Modern Take on an All-White Wedding

Vintage details meets modern romance in this all-white wedding shoot from Jane + Co Photography and Black Sweet Raspberry! The loft venue at Black Pearl on the Columbia offered sweeping views of the river and the mountains rising in the distance, offering natural light to sweep through the airy space and create the perfect setting for romance. This gorgeous wedding design started with a simple concept – taking the vintage trappings of romance and translating them to a modern day couple. The blend of timeless and trending details is a creative way to approach wedding photos that capture the ephemeral magic of a day that lives on in the perfect shot and champagne-tinted memories.

All-White Weddings are Timeless with a Modern Twist

How a pair of vintage shoes inspired this whole wedding shoot

I picked up these pink suede heels at an estate sale years ago and ever since, I’ve imagined the woman who owned these wearing these with gorgeous ball gowns, lace and fancy hats, going out to lavish dinners, escorted by a dashing man in a tuxedo or with her girlfriends for a night on the town. These shoes, and those times inspired this shoot. Bringing it to present day, I wanted a clean, beautiful, editorial feel with a nod to modern romance. Romance in 2021, what does that look like? Can we bring it back to being truly romantic and intimate, meaning lots champagne, formal outfits, effortless glamour! The open, minimal setting lent itself well to the theme and the lighting in the afternoon was just breathtaking. With all of the micro weddings and elopements we wanted to jump on that train and show that you can have a lovely, meaningful day and still be glamorous with even just the two of you.

A vintage brocade dress added 1930’s flair to the bride’s look! The low neckline and calf-length silhouette added a retro vibe, effortlessly matched by her sleeked back low chignon and hammered gold earrings. With simplicity and airy beauty as the goal, the styling team paired the gown with a hand tied orchid bouquet and a delicate veil to capture the most captivating bridal photos!

Take that glamorous veil energy up a notch with a bridal cape!

The team made some magic with these veil bridal portraits! The backlit venue with the sun setting over the river added a dramatic scene for these stunning and ethereal portraits with the bride’s veil!

It’s white tie all the way for the groom! To tie in vintage style with modern romance, they kept the all-white wedding style going with the groom’s white shawl collar dinner jacket with a black bow tie and pocket square for maximum impact.

Soft hues of champagne, ivory, cream, and damask gold created a fabulous lounge seating area. The layered light neutrals helped the all-white wedding colors pop on film with this dreamy and moody light!

The all-white wedding theme carried into the reception decor with this minimalist tablescape. White silk tablecloths and clear ghost chairs added to the ethereal feel of the dinner party, with the sun setting over the river the as the backdrop.

The centerpieces added a lush, romantic feel brimming with orchids, garden roses and baby’s breath. The all-white palette for the table included hand thrown ceramic vessels for the flower arrangements, with gold flatware tied with a silk ribbon. Ombre blush and white acrylic place mats were hand lettered with each guests’ name to serve as both a place setting detail and a seating chart! The effect added a slight blush of color that enhanced the tones of cream and ivory in the flowers and ceramic china, along with metallic gold flatware and minimalist candlesticks.

This sleek sheer beaded tulle and crepe mermaid dress became a convertible dream thanks to a tulle overskirt that added a ball gown silhouette! The stunning combination of textures – from the sleek silk crepe, the barely-there nude bodice with sparkling bead work, and the layers of tulle – gave this all-white wedding palette gorgeous depth on film.

The all-white wedding cake with a gold deckle edge made a gorgeous reception focal point! A white silk runner and phalaenopsis orchids added to the chic and timeless effect!

Sip, sip, hooray! A champagne coupe tower is always a fabulous way to celebrate – the vintage glasses add a wonderful detail to this sleek all-white loft venue, especially when filled with sparkling wine!

Time for a reception dress change! This pleated silk dress with mod booties added a fun element to the last fashion change of the day!
